I like to wear simple, solid color items and add a patterned silk neck scarf. Then, I might add simple small earrings and a bracelet. That’s probably my favorite formula. I also do this with interesting belts, like the black and white patterned one I just got, instead of a scarf. If I’m wearing a statement item, like a floral, I keep the accessories really quiet. I like to match them, in a neutral color, in this case, to let them rest in the background, so to speak. I don’t have the anti-matching, or always-matching, prejudices that many people do, sometimes I match bag, belt and shoes, often I don’t. But, I do like to repeat a color in an outfit a lot, as in home decorating. So, I might wear matching shoes and belt, but not bag. It depends on the outfit, I just do what I think looks best and is the most “me”. I like to wear a belt with bottoms that have belt loops, it looks more finished, but often in the same color as the trousers or skirt. I don’t want to emphasize my lack of waist definition, in general.
