It feels like I watched this video for the first time just a few months ago. Wow Nade, it's insane to see how far you've come. Always stay humble and remember your roots man. To see the success you're having is truly an inspiration, and it's damn well deserved.

Nade, those nostalgia moments will never be forgotten-- and with that being said, your Mom made you a stronger person by giving you that challenge because she saw the potential in you as it relates to competitiveness. Even though she wasn't as supportive as you would have liked her to be she was just being a "Mom" by wanting you to get your education. So as you were pursuing your career in gaming, she was really rooting you on because "a Mom knows her baby". In closing, be encouraged and know that your Mom was looking out for you then and still to this day she's looking over you. Trust me

You really touched my heart. I know how you feel about wondering if you are screwing your life up. I think about it every day. I share the same passion you do about making videos. I want to make it so bad. I had a motorcycle accident in 2004 which paralyzed my right arm. I was a school teacher in a small town that kind of went south. But thats a whole other story. Please just keep the faith. I'm sure your mom is happy and you now have the satisfaction that you made your channel and gaming career successful. Thank you so much for sharing.

I came back, months after watching this initially, and this is one of, if not my favourite, video that you have made. You have gone through so many hard things in your life; your mother's death, but yet you somehow persevere. And on top of that tragedy, people make fun of that and treat you like shit, to the point where you feel obsolete to other gamers on the professional side. You are a smart person and you don't deserve the amount of shit you get. You're a good person, and that's why we love you.
Your moms looking down smiling on you man ;) keep it up!

Hey man, I know youll never see this, I just came from your video of your new house with haley. I remember watching this video when I was 13 and you inspired me so much to get involved in eSports and gaming. I knew from this video this was the industry I wanna be apart of. I just want to say, man to man, how proud I am of you and how far you've come through the years. Those years in your first apartment and those paranormal videos, those tough times i watched it all man. Your story is very inspiring, please never stop being you, and continue to share your knowledge and love with the world. I know your mom would be so proud. Much love homie.

Honestly touched me bro. I am extremely passionate about gaming and i work 30-40 hours at Five Guys and i'm on my senior year of high school. My mom hates my video games and tries to take it away until i got a new controller and played at night. Although i can't afford a elgato or a scuf controller for my ps3 i try my hardest to try and not give up. Watching this video made me realize maybe with a little faith ill get where you are today. Well wish me luck hopefully i can get what i want soon.

It's so weird. Matt is a completely different person now. I've only been a fan for like a year but I've gone back and watched almost all of his old videos. To be honest I kinda like the old Matt more. Not that I don't like Nadeshot right now but there's just something different and brighter that he used to have but doesn't quite have anymore. Maybe it's just me but even since he's taken his break he doesn't have the same flare I saw in this video. Once again I still love nade and he's tied with CS for my favorite youtuber.

Gaming 'got it' but unless what you're doing now provides a sustainable 7-figure income then what are you going to do in your late 20's and beyond!? Listen I'm about your parents age and I like to play games for 'fun' but now at 49 I can easily retire, I own my own business .. Data Center. IF you were a Pro Athlete and earning a solid 7 or 8 figure income and could save at least $500K or more per year then sure, but gaming you've got maybe a few more years and that's it .. you'll be too old to be a competitive gamer. Any form of athlete is short lived. Q - How many Pro Gamer's are in their mid-20's, 30's and/or older??? Now if you're a smart guy attempt to think LONG TERM, in my case I refuse to hire anyone without a full college degree. Food for thought & good luck!
@adcasa2411 жыл бұрын
He makes about 11k a month
@DJaquithFL11 жыл бұрын
adcasa24 To you that might seem like a lot, I don't know, my first 8 months out of college I earned $250K and the next year $450K or about $38K/mo and that was in the late 1980's. Now it's a lot more and I don't kill myself working anymore, but pff at his age I worked 70+ hours a week as a start-up. My wife now is semiretired and as a Realtor makes 3X times his income and only working part-time. Our personal living expenses are an easy $15K/month and my house and cars paid-off; no debts. Living in poverty row my expenses would be $8K+/mo. Listen, he's a smart kid, seems to have potential, and combined with being self employed the income potential today is a flip of a coin. Give anyone a $1M bucks and most will blow it all in a couple of years .. or less. IF you want to retire and have a decent lifestyle you need a solid $4M~$5M in the bank saved, that is unless you want to live off social security in a lonely apartment and working in your 80's in a Wal-Mart. Real World.

D Jaquith Ya but your gaming skills dont decay like an athlete's abilities do you don't see old gamers cause it is a young sport and he has youtube and twitch. However, I do agree, he is thinking in the short term. If Optic fails this upcoming tournament what happens then?
@DJaquithFL11 жыл бұрын
Pro Gamer's 'skills' are very short lived, and I don't know one Pro that's in even their late 20's much less any in their 30's. This to me seems like a folk in the road with a quick dead end. It's his life not mine. I only wish him well and success.

Nade when I saw this video I thought you were going to have gameplay over but then I realized no. My mom says that gaming is stupid and she says that I have to play sports to do good in life well my dad is a huge fan and we'll I live with my mom because they divorced when I was two and I can't afford really anything to record with so I don't really think I will be able to become pro but I really wish that I had an opportunity to actually get a pvr to record but I really don't i, not an amazing player I wish the best to you and optic I will watch every single tournament until the day I die and I will be there when you guys win the tournaments I just don't have the money and I am kind off in the same situation my grandma died a year back and she Is really the only person besides my dad who really said you can do it make sure you share the money when you win one of those events but unnfurtanetly I can't split the money but I will always remember that she was the first persons to really believe in me

Damn man I felt your pain when you spoke of your mother. You are truly blessed with everyone's dream job man. Keep doing you and being awesome man. You're probably one of the most laid back guys I've ever watched on KZbin.

I hate to say but bot my parents dont also support me in gaming. I bought an elgato and saving for astros and a streaming computer. My birthday passed two days ago and dont want me to waste my money and "dumb items" and to better buy clothes or something useful when all I want to do is have fun and start making youtube videos. I have some KZbin videos up but they are all uploaded from my friends laptop which makes me frustrated because I could have been personally ranking up videos everyday with awesome commentary's, if only my parents realize this is what I love doing. Anyone have any suggestion on how to convince them. I showed them this video and others but wont support me still.

The way that I would do it which is what u would do in the future, is to show your parents what can come out of posting videos and how it can inflect on your future. Like for me in example when I start making videos which for sure isn't gonna me on this channel right now, and when I have enough subscribers, I wanna help my parents out with the bills and they don't have any problems with it I just want to help. So maybe also tell your parents something like." I promise once I get popular enough I'm gonna start helping out with groceries," etc you know so that's what I would do
