It rarely happens, very VERY rarely in fact. But, when it does, it's possession of the soul is unquestionable. On THIS night for the great GRACHEVA it happened, that "Zone", the greats ride on a magic carpet of perfection, when the music, choreography, and the personage, take over the artist and THEY know it, relax, and bathe in the magic that's happening. What is even more astounding is that it happened on a magic carpet of perfection night when it's being filmed, when everything you dance will be noted and on the record. THAT'S when the truly greats shine the BEST, when the pressure is on HIGH. This is probably the greatest most beautiful performance of Aegina ever recorded and it begins at the moment she left her dressing room on her way to the cavernous BOLSHOI stage. La Grande DIOSA GRACHEVA, offers a true authority of presence and a colorful splash of confetti of artistic expression. Her cobraesque Aegina is a masterpiece. La Grande GRACHEVA, would have owned the BALANCHINE crowned masterpieces, had she been allowed and invited to the NYCB as guest artist. This is also GRIGOROVICH'S masterpiece display of styles ranging from the aforementioned BALANCHINE to the American musical comedy. It ALL works. It is a great ballet. BRAVO POST!!! GRACIAS!!!

The choreography is that of a genius and the dancers executed it perfectly, especially Gracheva. Love those imposing male dancers. She makes an exotic dancer look like a boring amateur but provides a powerful study in technique and artistry to all dancers. She is beyond words. All the dancers and musicians deserve the highest praise. Thank you, C❤❤❤

This is astoundingly good. I kept thinking how extremely fortunate Grigorovich was to have his choreography danced like this. This is magnificent. I mean, Gracheva is superb but this is just extraordinary. Thank you so much for showing us this.

We were lucky to see “Spartacus” in QPAC played by world top Ballet company Bolshoi last year. The show is very successful because the Bolshoi has the best dancers in the world. “Spartacus” was created in different historical period from that of “Swan Lake” and “Don Quixote”, perhaps we still need time to understand different style in dance as well in music.
