When Anno wasn't depressed and could actually make a show about romance, action, and exploring the world. And also have a happy ending lol

Actually Anno got depressed during Nadia's intense production. He went on leave for clinical therapy during the island filler arch hence they had a stand-in director. The whole thing was also a great learning experience for Anno. He made Evangelion really efficient with recycled cels and applied therapy lessons for the Psychoanalysis themes.

@@reiayanami_ I actually loved the Island Arc cause it was a nice change of pace to comedy that got me more hyped-up for the gear change back to war drama. Perhaps I also have a bias cause I grew-up watching Giligan's Isle re-runs and Dexter's Lab as a 90s kid. When Jean had the dream about building the Thunderbirds base I was like "the creators of Dexter's Lab must have been inspired by this." lol

@@reiayanami_ Really? I have only heard miserable bad reviews about the Nadia movie. So calling it Mid seems like a huge stretch. lol I have never seen the movie though and its to be very lost media.

@@reiayanami_, okay, it was a joke. 😔 All I know is that "Nadia" is an anime prior to "Evangelion" directed as well by Hideaki Anno and whose artistic direction and character design then spread to "Evangelion". I never thought of watching it, but now, having read the comments, I might give it a shot sometime. 😈
