Yes, I don't mind sequels as long the writing is strong and consistent. I don't believe in treating great 1st films like Faberge eggs, on a shelf, never to be touched again.

As someone who loves these comic/animated characters, all I hope for is Todd staying true to these already well written, well flesh out characters. Transferring these fictional characters from comic to Live action dramatic film, in a serious way is my favorite thing to see. Because it's still in the Batman universe, I hope they touch on the perspective of a young Bruce Wayne (either in this film, the next or in a spin off sequel) and how he's coping with the Joker basically being responsible for the death of his parents. The Joker inadvertently creating a vigilante to challenge his chaos he created.

Here comes a creepy theory regarding Harley Quinn: She's also a figment of Arthur's imagination. Worse yet, she might be a projection of his own mother and the way she let her boyfriends abuse Arthur. Remember how he used music as a coping mechanism that gets triggerd every time he acted out violently. From killing those Wall Street guys to Murray's last talk show. He does real-world murders, yet rationalizes them through music and dancing. This, added with the physical abuse courtesy of his mother will probably manifest itself in the form of a fake inmate named Harley.❤

Can't Wait for the Madness... lol. It's the Psychological Aspect of the Character that's got me hooked... & I don't think I've been Excited for a Musical before... even though I don't think this will be like a Musical we've seen before. ☮

Me too. I don't believe it will be a traditional musical though. It will likely incorporate music like the first movie. Any musical numbers will likely be in their imagination, psychosis.

This is not yr traditional Batman/Joker comic or movie where they are cast to look like or possess the psychical qualities of a standard Marvel/DC film superhero film. It's more of a character study of the Joker/Fleck character. Yes Harley, Bruce Wayne, Superman, Wonderwoman exist in this universe but it's REAL versions of them. FLAWED versions of them likely.

@@Delboy0 What are y talking about? Todd Phillips produced A Star Is Born. Not abnormal at all to use actors from previous projects if it was a positive experience and if they love their acting style. Tarantino, Woody Allen, Jordan Peele, Ben Afleck, Matt Damon, etc all have used the same actors over and over again. Todd talked about how Gaga's low key performance style was perfect for HIS version of Harley Quinn. A total opposite of Margot Robbie. More in the vein of a Charlie Manson groupie. But y are entitled to yr own opinion of Gaga's acting abilities but let's give her a chance and watch the movie first before we judge THIS performance. 😉
