When ppl think of an Irish accent. They think of the typical southern accent and they recognise the Belfast accent up north. People don't realise that this is a Derry accent and depending on where in Derry your are based you can sound exactly like this. Also a lot of accents on the island of Ireland sound very American. Its what they say in America that it's how they got the "American accent, due to so many Irish being there and mixing it about. The Derry accent is amazing.

I'm a 'brit' English actually but let's not get that convo started. People understand her but I think Derry is just such an unusual/recognisable accent that it constantly gets mentioned for her in interviews. Every single new person I mean brings up my accent and I'm a very clear speaker. If you don't have a standard queens english accent, you get pulled up on about it.

The real issue is when people from her own community cringe at her accent.
