Kai Hunt 02-09-17 -

Kai reached head count #100 for the season! Woohoo!! That's my first time reaching triple digits with a bird. I flew him pretty fat today so he wasn't giving 100%, but sometimes that makes the hunt more fun because I get to see more flights between catches. The first one he chose to catch in the grossest possible spot, making me crawl through the muck on my belly. Gross!

Awesome to watch videos on Northern Goshawks. It seems so many are in Europe with Finnish goshawks/hybrids. Just curious if all the game caught has been cottontail? My intent is to take a goshawk this summer and still deciding whether or not to do a male or female. Most likely I won't have a choice and it's gonna come down to what's there. And I am definitely not passing on a gos in hand lol especially here in AZ.

100 rabbits in one year is quite an accomplishment. I was a hawking fool for 29 years and I don't think I've ever topped a hundred with one bird. You must have some excellent hawking fields. Great job CCL & Kai. :-)

It's a first for me! I do have some pretty good fields near me but about a third of my catches have been at away fields this season. I've been doing a lot of traveling!

I'm smilin'. I hadn't read your description before I watched the clip. I was pretty sure you were a muddy mess by the time you got to the bird/bunny. You're gaining everyone's respect by doing what it takes to succeed.
