Supongmeren won because of the principles of secularism and by the mandate of the like minded electorate. BJP clearly had anti religious policy in their manifesto coupled with deprivation of minorities in this diversed nation. NDPP being an ally with the anti religion and anti minority party had their chances of winning this MP election in a Christian dominated state remained grim from the beginning. Also, NDPP contested without their vote bank or else it would have been a different story. 😁 To have an elected member at the centre despite having oppositionless at the state assembly is the beginning of thwarting force and corruption in the state.
