What a pleasant seeming kitchen job, no annoying co-staff getting in your way, no constant beeping or alarms going for fryers, not worrying about constantly working the cash register. Just nice, clean, solo-cooking people's custom orders. As a cooking fanatic it sounds very relaxing and fun

this is soo elegantly done, i admit ive gotten more lazy over the years with cooking breakfast at my families diner but there is still so much pride to be taken in cooking breakfast right. And sometimes working alone is the best because you work at your speed and dont have to worry about anyone else :) though the time i cooked a sunday rush of 150 or so over the coarse of 6 hours begs to differ (fast paced resturant serving diner foods) but god is it fun in a way!

I was working on the line the other day for breakfast. We needed to make some poached eggs quickly and our burners were discovered to have gas issues so our pot wasn't hot enough, so our other morning cook took some of the water from said pot and put it in one of the non stick pans reserved for omelets and turned the heat all the way up and poached both eggs, no vinegar and they came out good, but he's been cooking for decades.. But I witnessed first hand, it can be done..

I can't wait to do this! my dad is a retired line cook, my brother followed his shoes and I can't wait to become one once I'm old enough! Gonna drop out once I hit 10th grade, get my GED and then it's right to the line for me!!
