Bingo. I always had the thought in my mind that nahida would be terrifying if hoyo didn’t make her a small and kind child. Nahida can read minds, control dreams, and hijack peoples’ consciousness. She would’ve been justified in wanting revenge on sumeru. With those powers, she could force all of sumeru into mindless slaves or all out combat with each other. Even the current kind nahida openly admits her hobby is stalking the traveler. Something her power lets her do at any time if they aren’t too far away. If nahida ever lost her moral compass, she’d make dottore look like a saint

She had little to no reason to be kind to the citizens of sumeru after/during being trapped but the fact that she did not blame the sages for imprisoning her at first and even gave azar the smallest punishment of sending him to exile and work in the avidya forest. Nahida is definitely my favorite archon. As a take on a "nature god," I find her refreshing - what's most interesting about this aspect of her identity is the title, "Avatar of Irminsul." This almost makes me think of her as a "manifestation," or the physical embodiment, of dendro itself. It puts dendro in a more interesting light as being more than just plants/nature, but specifically its essence, the energies of a life force. And I love how we see this play out in Nahida's skill, by connecting everybody's life energy for chain reactions.

I have never thought of Nahida as a nature god lmao dendro doesnt really mean nature in any way. First of all half of nature is fauna and Dendro has 0 relation to that. The other half, flora, is barely even related to dendro. Dendro is the least manifested element on attack animations, it has bloom seeds at best and only if you use hydro, the rest are green rays and no trace of "nature".

You're right, though - the true "nature god" was the God of Flowers. But she's gone, and the Dendro Archon has become the god associated with nature and plantlife - even though, like I said and admired about her fresh take on such a deity, dendro isn't "literally" about plants, but life energy.

Gods/Archons are truly fascinating to analyse, becuase in hindsight, you cannot really look at them from the perspective of a human, because they are not, Venti is a wind wisp, he probably was in the same mental state as Nahida at some point in his life, curious about humanity but not really understanding it, it's amazing that gods such as Guizhong valued humanity so much, and it's also very interesting in terms of analysing Scaramouche because he has the body of a god but he has the same emotional range as a human. Nahida really does feel like an AI of sorts, her dook dook talk is funny but it's almost a clear example of her like, looking into an "algorithm" of what is common behaviour in humans, the same goes for how she was surprised by our reactions at the end of the quest, in fact, I believe the fact that Nilou was so fast to accept the samsara as a dream was a big example of how an "algorithm" of human behaviour is not representative of the individual, and while for some knowing they were in a dream would blow their minds, others like Nilou would take it in a slide.

And the thing with Guizhong is that she _didn't_ value humanity originally. She came to appreciate them over time. Similar to Aster talking about how Zhongli and Venti probably better understand them than the other Archons because they've walked among humanity for so long.

They possess a Lot of Human traits to where they aren't that Different from Humans such as the Friendship and Camaraderie as well as lost and Pain. Dainself said it best on how there isn't too much difference between gods and humans. This is the aspect he was referring to. Where they aren't just a Higher elemental being. What makes them different is there inhuman experiences. Eternity of lost and Long Life. Access to senses humans do not possess and the fact they don't starve like humans. Any human born into those Circumstances will have radically different outcomes to the point of being inhuman.

I mean, she wasn't unjustified. From what I have read, dreams do have a tendency to self-destruct if looked at too closely. It takes a lot of practice to be able to recognize a dream without it falling apart, and even more to exert conscious control over it.

I loved how the Archon quest was written to make us actually care about Nahida as a character and be invested enough to want to save her. In the other archon quests the traveler was pulled into whatever is happening in the nations almost against their will. The traveler only ever wants to learn stuff about their siblings whenever they enter a nation. They only play nice in Mondstat and start caring about the dragon problem because they're bestowed the position of the honorary knight, they're bullied into investigating the death of the archon in Liyue because they're framed for murder and they're very unwilling to fight the sakoku decree at first when they go to Inazuma. But in Sumeru no one asks the traveler to intervene in the problem. Even after the first act Nahida only talks about pursuing her own investigation of iriminsul. They're endeared enough to Nahida to tag along for her investigation and then they realize that she is a prisoner and they're enraged on her behalf. In the last act the traveler's main motivation is saving Nahida and everything else including the false God is secondary. They don't even expect her to answer questions about their sibling, Nahida has to remind them that they can ask such questions. That was such a nice way to develop both Nahida and the traveler as characters.

Actually, so far, Nahida has always come up to me as the most transparent of the Archons so far, as if she seemed not to be hiding weird stuff like Venti, Zhongli and Ei (as far as we know). Another curious thing that has kept my attention, something that you actually mentioned: Mecha-mouche was powered with the Electro Gnosis and Pyro, Hydro, Cryo and Anemo Delusions (leaving Geo and Dendro out). And also, something very curious: so far, there has been some old Dendro enemies (slime, samachurl) and a few new incorporations (hypostasis, fungi, a Dendro elemental beast, an eremite version of Honkai's Ai-chan and the eremite archer), yet the Fatui still don't have Dendro Delusion soldiers. I wonder if they've been incapable of developing Dendro Delusions for whatever reason... (Or if it's just a game mechanic they haven't developed yet). What do you make of it?

She recognizes that humans reasoning is flawed on a logical level and instead of deciding that they are broken or unworthy, she decides that the gap is reasoning is due to an error in HER logic. And so she wants to learn. And THATS why she’s my favorite

I kinda agree and disagree on Nahida's lack of experience. As you said, she replaces personal experience and emotional attachment with logical conclusions and observations. But through these observations, she saw many dreams of Sumeru's children, visions of the world yet-to-be heroes and scholars want to create, and can connect these through common denominators. To that end, she understands human emotion quite well, which is also why she's very adept at manipulating them. She even has the morality to not want to enter somebody's subconscious without prior permission, simply out of respect, despite standing contrary to her curiosity. I'd also argue she understands quite well how dangerous Celestia is, and how going against its authority spells inevitable destruction. That's why she even came up with the "destroy the gnosis" bluff in the first place. What Nahida still has to learn, is mortal desire. Her first lesson was when you broke into her confinement to wake her up from her dreamless slumber and made her finally realize what she truly wanted, and how she denied herself this due to attempting to assume her intended role as archon, and putting the needs of her people above herself. This kinda kickstarted her own desire, which why in her personal quest, she mingles with the populace in hoping to learn the reason behind emotional bonds and the peoples' attachment to their own emotions, even at the risk of great pain. And at the end, she admits she doesn't get it - because her only experience of emotional attachment and loss was literally wiped from Teyvat's hard drive: Rukkhadevata. Her erasure from Irminsul is a major setback in Nahida's emotional maturing process, which was already stumped by 500 years of confinement. And all of her involvement from Scaramouche's story onward so far has been in service to you, the Traveler, not for herself. So her arc might still need to reach a climax, as she simply lacks experience. But I find your explanation of wisdom as a weapon really cool. With how little we are supposed to know, Nahida's less restrained movements have a great amount of potential to uncover dark secrets, while we Travelers can retain this wisdom without any repercussions as beings outside of Irminsul. Our knowledge is basically the ultimate backup, and all archons are aware of that fact.

She's definitely has one of the more haxs abilities so far in genshin. The ability to cast opponents into dream like Illusion can be very powerful depending on how its used. Then again illusion based abilities are always pretty op in animes like naruto and bleach for example.

I have this feeling while the fandom likes to potray Nahida as sweet child, Scaramouche's aunt/mom that showers him with love compared to his original mom (don't get me wrong, I like them), I feel like the canon Nahida strikes me as a "emotionless" child (not in a bad way). She might have some grasp in human emotion, but she still have long way to go. Well, she is a god of logic and rationality, and she's the youngest archon so understanding mortal might be a challenge to her compared to more experienced one like Zhongli, Venti, Makoto, and Rukkhadevata. Like, she's stated multiple times that she doesn't completely understand with human interaction and emotion, thus that's why she asked Traveler to interact with people for her plan, right? The way she keep Scaramouche is because she think Scara have something beneficial for her in the long run, it feels like she's seeing Scara as a tool rather than a lost child. Instead of adopting Scara, I see it as Nahida rehabilitates Scara to become a better person/behaves well. At least Nahida have strong morality in my eyes compared to other archons. Her experience with human emotion and loss is when Rukkhadevata is still exist. She have this feeling that she's overshadowed by Rukkhadevata and she's crying when Rukkhadevata is gone. But well, Rukkhadevata doesn't exist now so her experience is gone. Or maybe this is because I played JP dub. JP dub gives me this "algorithmic, emotionless, rational and logical small god" compared to EN dub that is more "sweet child archon that have big curiousity"

I love Nahida so much, she's one of my favourite characters in the game. I love how she is wise and benevolent, but also intimidating when the time calls for it. I also love that she doesn't have a complete grasp of human emotions, but despite that she knows it doesn't make them any less important. Emotions are a huge part of the human world, and her lack of experience with them doesn't invalidate that. If anything, it is part of her ever growing journey of seeking more knowledge and understanding of this world. She also isn't afraid of not playing safe, gambling with a possibility that could lead to nothing at best and a catastrophe at worst like she did with Dottore. In the end, they both got what they wanted. What is more valuable to a curious god than learning the very concealed truth of this world? To be wise is to be knowledgeable, and to be curious is to take all the chances given to you to gain that knowledge. That's how you get the God of Wisdom. One that is wise and always on the lookout for more knowledge. You never stop learning, and that's the beauty of it. All in all, I think she's an amazing character. I can't wait to see more of her in the story.

Nahida's abilities can potentially be deadlier if she weren't so kind. I liken her to Aizen from Bleach where he basically manipluates a person's visual reality through illusions, to the point of fooling even Godly beings. It's quite the terrifying power. Nahida has shown similar abilites and theoretically can go beyond what even Aizen can do. She's more akin to Road Camelot from D. Gray-Man who can also control deams. Once she hijacks your mind the battle is lost. Even the other archons wouldn't be able to do much if she decided to kill them in their dreams, thus killing them in life as well. I also don't think she's at her peak yet. There's still time for her to grow and learn. Love Nahida.

Ei literally said that nahida has power that ei cant even imagine but used it just to right wrong and fix things.. or else she's deadliest archon in my opinion.. zongli also said she's hold the most important job guarding irminsul.. cus what happens to irminsul happens to all ENTIRE TEYVAT.. i mean if nahida has no moral and seeking destruction isn't cut down irminsul = Kill teyvat it self..? @@jeffreyoiy5337 Well, it's stated in Raiden's second quest that the puppet and Ei have the power to even shatter dreams, so maybe it can stun them for a moment but to instantly win against other Archons is probably not the case. Ei says that she can do things beyond their imagination, it is probably referring to the Irminsul erasure, which doesn't actually erase someone from existence, she can do global changes with that yeah but she herself is susceptible to such a thing in the first place.

I feel like knowledge is the greatest power in teyvet, with Celestia punishing those with it and how each of our five archons seem to collect it. We have nahida which is obvious, venti is by the the greatest story teller. If there's a person that's achieved anything, venti knows the story. Zhongli has acquired one of the largest expanses of general knowledge while also having specialized knowledge on many subjects. Ei is a true master of the blade should there be a fight I have no doubt she will win. She spent 500 years fighting herself, I don't think anyone else could keep a strong will like that besides her anymore. Then there's the tseritsa, collecting the best the world has to offer in the form of her harbingers. Researchers warriors and magicians, she has everything

I literally started saving for Nahida the moment I finished the Inazuma Archon Quest. She did not disappoint, and even aligned far better with my predictions than I would expect. (There's also the fact that green hair, connection to nature, and ability to infodump are all shortcuts to get me to like a character. All she's missing are androgyny, a bow, cat ears, and, as of Xenoblade 2, a Welsh accent.) The part about a poor understanding of human emotions and trying to make sense of them logically isn't such a fantastical thing. People who are neurodivergent literally have their brains work differently than the majority, including experiencing emotion differently. For me, logic and emotion are tightly interconnected, neither really overriding the other, so it's taken time to make sense of the usual portrayal of the two as opposing each other. Is Nahida neurodivergent? No; she's not even human, but at the same time, neurodivergence has often been associated with inhumanity, so given her domain (and fae attributes) it's very unsurprising that she would display a few autistic traits.

Nahida is definitely contender for one of the most powerful beings considering she has every information to gether from and just straight up Hi-Jack your very consciousness. As for the time being she's just small and barely capable of greater deeds, but she follows in the Greater Lord's footsteps of being a caring and loving Archon towards her people. Ei, Zhongli and Venti also respects her greatly and acknowledges her capabilities. Ei specifically calls her a "Gentle goddess" which is super heartwarming considering how much Nahida's curiosity about humans is endearing. Lastly It is unknown at the moment if Nahida's mind reading capabilities are locked to individuals near her but we do know that the Traveler has linked their mind with Nahida so much that it's a lot likely that she's going to be watching and listening on our future travels :D

As Rukhadevata said "you may become a greater Archon then even I". Rukhadevata was an Avatar of Irminsul so basically Like a proxy for Irminsul but Nahida was created from the purest branch of Irminsol so she's basically Irminsul itself. That makes her quite powerful maybe even stronger then Rukhadevata. According to Rukhadevata she has the curiosity and passion for knowledge that even Rukhadevata lacked which is rather scary when you think about it. This got me thinking. What if, at some point of the story, Nahida had understood forbidden knowledge? She had somehow fully grasped it, without being currupted, and without affecting irminsul? What would Celestia do then? What would Nahida do? Will she pull an "Orabashi" and sacrificed herself for Sumeru to not get nailed? Or will she embrace her new found, other wordly power to fight off Celestia? Kinda like what happened with Kiana from Honkai, where she got corrupted by Sirin and then embracing that power later in the story. (yeah I know some of you don't like comparing Honkai to Genshin but that's the most similar comparison I got). It would be interesting to see this happen, since Nahida is dubbed the purest branch of irmunsul. She may have a strong resistance to forbidden knowledge, and control and understand it without going crazy. This is definitely not because I wanna see an Alter Nahida..yep yep

while nahida is in fact very powerful there are a few things and limitations that we need to know: first : it is unknown whether or not hijacking would work on beings stronger then her but it most likely doesn't work on beings stronger then her as she did not hijack scara during the boss fight which implies that she could not control him (same thing with dottore) (we don't know if you can resist the hijacking if you knew she was going try it) second : she could only send you into a dream if you are sleeping or unconscious state as both the academia and nahida sent people to dreams while they are asleep or unconscious (nahida's power would most likely need the power to actually touch the person's body while in a sleeping/unconscious state as shown in robot boss fight) third : her dreams would not work if you knew it was a dream which if have knowledge of her dreams and know how to break out then they would not work at all forth : she can't control your dreams as well since you are the dream host and you have absolute power over it even though she can enter it at will fifth : she seems to need to be right next to irminsul to manipulate it and other people seem to be able to manipulate irminsul as well which means if you can get irminsul before her then you can use her greatest weapon against her sixth : getting information about you won't help if you are too powerful for her to be able use ex: scara boss fight she got 168 loops worth of information about him but still needed the traveler to defeat him even with the entirety of sumeru's help seventh : she has a special weakness against morax since he controls the ground and plants need soil to grow and live she can't do anything against him otherwise he takes her power or kills her

It's not that they're completely unrelated, but my personal pet peeve is with people who believes that Nahida is just a complete copy/reincarnation/new vessel of Rukkhadevata based on purely because they look the same (and the line "I'm you but in another samsara") and that when Rukkhadevata was erased from Irminsul and Teyvat, they think Nahida completely takes over or become one with Rukkhadevata, which was what the people of Teyvat think after the memories alteration, but in reality they are still two different gods and a different individual at their core, eventhough they have the same role/essence. Personally to me, thinking of them as the very same disregard Rukkhadevata's deeds and Nahida's struggle and journey of her growth (and her whole character arc so far, basically). Like Aster said, their memories do not transfer, and in Nahida's SQ she believes that there's an existence that means a lot to her but she cannot and shouldn't remember for her own good. Also most people think that Buer = Rukkhadevata's demon name and that Nahida took it from her. I personally believe that Rukkhadevata did not go with the name Buer, because it'll be weird for Nahida to calls us her first sage while Rukkhadevata had her own first sage long long ago (esp while the two of them still exist in Teyvat at the same time back then). Unfortunately we never knew what demon name Rukkhadevata went with and perhaps will never find out so there's no strong proof against this.

I personally see them as the same abstract entity, but different people. Genetically, Nahida would be a clone given how trees work. As people though, they're defined by their memories. Different memories means different people with different behaviors. On a more memey note, "Greater Lord Rhukadevata" is just some name that fans made up to refer to Nahida before she most recently lost her power and memories. 🙃 More seriously, I think that the flashback in the pyramid of the Dendro Archon reverting to a child was actually Rhukadevata's birth and that the adult Dendro Archon seen in the flashback was _her_ predecessor who was erased from people's memories and ended up conflated with Rhukadevata. So we'd actually have 3, or maybe more, different reincarnations/generations of the Dendro Archon, not just 2.

Rukkhadevata was described as "Omniscient and Omnipotent" Nahida being another Incarnation of that same being has that same potential, we even know that Rukkhadevata reverted to how Nahida looks now at some point due to spending her power; That makes me think Nahida as a being is inherently the same, just a different personality with a different fate. I don't really agree with Nahida being unable to understand emotion. Wisdom, her aspect, is not defined purely by knowledge. Wisdom is knowing how to use that knowledge. Her entire character is defined by being able to properly use the knowledge at her disposal. In fact it isn't her lack of understanding emotion that makes her dangerous, it's her lack of control over them. When we free Nahida she is slumbering and has an inner monologue with herself, while the voice that talked back at her had Greater Lord Rukkhadevatas Voice I don't think it was her. Instead it was the part of Nahida that understood her situation. She is the Goddess if Wisdom, she knew what was right all along, she could have taken action all along. Yet until we showed her that she is appreciated and loved she herself did not believe. Her emotions, her sense of inferiority in comparison to the Greater Lord, it made her essentially say "yes this isn't right but its not so bad and I wouldn't do good enough anyway" Many people might understand this feeling, where you might suffer from anxiety, you know and understand that a situation isn't dangerous but still can't bring yourself to act because you doubt your own judgement. Nahida is, more than anything, wise. She will be a powerful ally.

Probably just filled in a random Fatui. It doesn't really matter who it was, after all. Though one might wonder how it dealt with Mona's "hoshit run away!" reaction when she realized Scara was a Harbinger which wouldn't have happened if it was a non-Harbinger but maybe that bit got edited too or it was just sort of that while the stand-in in their memories wasn't a Harbinger, it _was_ a particularly powerful Fatui that they just happened to not ever see again or know the identity of. Which is more or less how it is from Mona's perspective anyway since she's never seen Scara again after that.
