@@vveisshardt She may have broken down the entire passage, but did she break down the passage entirely? There is always more hidden patterns or unspoken meaning to be found in a piece, especially this one; I expect Nahre knows that better than most. Maybe that's what she's referring to.
@vveisshardt
@vveisshardt 11 ай бұрын
@@oscargill423 yea ima gonna let you have the semantic W, it's yours, of course there's always more to understand in music or any artform. was just observing a bit of (perceivably false?) modesty from nahre insofar as she projected cluelessness but in fact was far from it. it's seemingly part of her brand to present herself as relatably struggling when a keen observer sees she's highly adept at basically any style she takes on.

Love that song. One of the best examples of when jazz sounds like metal
@Arycke
@Arycke 6 ай бұрын
It is a composed song with no improvised solos/musicians taking turn improvising solos *that I am aware of*, and that is a must in classification of jazz, to me. I also love this song a lot. It is my favorite from Tigran, but that's my 2 cents. It is a good approximation to classify it as "jazz metal," It is heavy asf.
@Arycke
@Arycke 6 ай бұрын
I know Tigran has played standards, so he is a jazz pianist and obv is a composer. I don't think the song necessarily needs a genre, but jazz metal is the closest I agree

@@Arycke jazz is about freedom i guess, there is not solo but hey, how free is this crazy riff ?
@Arycke
@Arycke 4 ай бұрын
@WalterVertigo tl;dr jazz is and isn't simply freedom. IMO. This banger of a riff from Tigran is as "free" as any of his others. Yeah you are free to play the chromatic scale up and down only, over any and all chords, but should you? Depends. Depends on genre, band, your goal(s), your fellow musicians' goal(s). You can shred a 16th note triplet filled solo using only Neopolitan Minor , over "I Will Always Love You", the whole time, 0 gaps, but should you? If it it is your goal and you aren't imposing this on listemers and players not wanting to hear that or don't care, then cool and good.

When i play this I much prefer to think of 7 groups of 3 (3x7=21). Just like how you count the intro of the song, and also how i would set the metronome. I practiced this line for a while with both hands 2 octaves apart and it is so hard to get fast haha. this vid inspired me to pick this song back up again.

@malignanttuna7790 11 ай бұрын
I guess so, although you don't always have to accent on 1. There are multiple correct answers, as long as you still get the result you need! (although in some cases communication with your other musicians should also be taken into account)@@inlonging

Yes ridiculous to divide 21 into 5 beats and a quarter! She never heard of Janacek 17 / 16?😅
@harrycrab8725
@harrycrab8725 6 ай бұрын
The phrasing to me sounds like 7-5-5-4 or maybe 8-5-5-3. Yes, both = 21, and you could notate/subdivide it any number of ways, but alternating phrases of 6 and 4 isn’t necessarily best thought of as 2 phrases of 5. So cool we all hear it differently.
