I went Kenting last weekend. Kenting is definitely one of best place to visit in Taiwan. Hope you are not scared of those messages criticizing Kenting. Always ask the price before purchasing food, souvenir, or anything if the price is not listed. Some spots, which are not well known in guide book, in Kenting can be found on Google map. Some of them are worth to visit. Hope you enjoy the trip in Kenting

You can use Uber or taxi apps. Yes, correct, 7-11 and family mart can help too... 7-11 also sells all sorts of train tickets and even art performance countrywide if there is the IBon machine.

台灣的計程車跟人家是不一樣的，越鄉下越貴，大概是因為地廣人稀，客量少單價就高，老實說兩百不算坑觀光客。我是台灣人之前去屏東市區也是跟我開口說只要出車就200，那還是很久以前的事！2008年的事，現在物價更高了啊⋯⋯

台灣的計程車越鄉下越貴 因為沒這麼多客人幫忙分擔油錢等成本 在大城市 司機一天可能假設能載到10組客人 在比較鄉下的地方 一天可能不到1/3 所以鄉下更多的是比較高的底價起跳 有他可以理解的原因 可是墾丁的情況我認為是例外 墾丁又不是什麼少人去的地方 起跳高這麼多一點都不合理

That looks like a perfect combination! Nice water, cool weather, not too crowded. I remember diving at Kenting, it felt like i was flying and surrounded by coral, fish and stuff, highly recommended! However food price in Kenting have a reputation of ripping off tourists, so be careful! Also i want to point out that we have priority seats to encourage people to give their seats to those in need, and it's not mandatory, you can just sit on it.

Yes the water looks amazing here! Not sure if we will be scuba diving, it is rather pricey. Taiwan is already eating a bit at our budget haha. Thanks for the info on the seats. We weren't sure what the deal was, so we wanted to be careful.

計程車很少是因為再過去就是台灣的東南部了，那邊人煙稀少 Taxi照道理都是要按里程計價的，司機有點不老實 另外推薦可以去風吹砂這個景點走走，景色很美

@@NaickKim for the food, what you see is the night market in Kenting Town, I am Taiwanese, for me it is nomal, but there is one sausage has flying fish egg inside, very special test, by the way, if you decided to rent a scooter, I am introducing you to go to Henchun it is the southest city of Taiwan, many local flavor to test, I am type in Chinese for let you find easily 阿伯綠豆蒜, 鄉村冬粉鴨, 白羊道燒麻糬 the three of my most favorite also, The National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium is worth to visit.

I remember this one time riding scooter along coastline at Dawu, Taitung. In pouring rain, foggy mountains and furious ocean was almost within my reach and oddly sacred, it really made me feel humble and in awe of the magnificent nature.

Naick & Kim , welcome to Hengchun Peninsula ! Here are a few beautiful beaches : Xiaowan (the first bay you arrived in ), Nanwan , Dawan , Baishawan ,... I lived twenty minutes drive from Kenting, Happiness ! Hengchun Peninsula is not big , just rent scooter !

I am so glad that you have come to Kenting. Pingtung is my hometown. Kenting is also a place where I often go outing when I was a student. There are not only sea but also mountains. The beach you are going to is the closest beach on Kenting Street called "Little Bay". It is just one of the many beaches in Kenting. The entire Kenting area is quite large and the landscape is very different. So you may wish to ask B & B owners, they will be happy to explain in detail how to "tour Kenting"!

Really sorry for letting you experience the expensive quote for taxi. Sometime in countryside, taxi drivers have really few chance to be called. That's why many of them don't follow the certificated meters and quote high prices. You are lucky that the weather is good and the driver didn't kick his business away. If you can take a taxi or scooter and go north, kind of in the area of the nuclear plant.There is a beach called 'bai-sha" "white sands" you will be amazed. My favorite place and not too crowded.

Be careful the unreasonable cost in Kenting. If you have available time, I suggest to go to Green Island and Xiao Liuqiu of Taiwan. There are beautiful underwater worlds where you can snorkel or dive. Of course if you would like to only drink at beach, Kentin is a nice place to do that in Taiwan. Hope you have a wonderful trip here.

When you're tired of Kenting, I would suggest going to Taitung. Take a early boat ride at Fugang harbor to Ludao (green island) which is good for a 2 day trip. Do the snorkeling, scootering, and maybe enjoy the sunrise at Sunrise hot spring to finish off the island trip and head back to Taitung the next day. Then rent a car, start driving towards Hualian. Renting a car is recommended because I would always make randoms stops just to appreciate the natural beauty along the way. The drive from Taitung city to Hualian city is around 3 hours, which could easily turn into 8 hours. BTW, do take the COASTLINE ROUTE. If you're taking buses or trains, take the seats on the right. At that point, if you're tired of the sea and still have time to spare, the mountains of Taiwan are gorgeous too.

Taxies in Kenting don’t use meter...so tourists normally rent a motorbike there or rent a car at Kaohsiung HSR station. Glad to see you guys got a special rate from the driver😅

Some of the taxi drivers are quite dodgy in taiwan, make sure asking is the fare rate based on the taxi metre? if not, just say no and waiting for the next one.

Taxis are the same all around the world when I can afford it I love to see their faces when you give them the original quoted fare fare as a tip you normally will find them waiting you for your next trip or handing you their direct phone number you then get charged discounted rates and have your own personal driver

There is not too many taxi in kenting, it’s not a city, so the taxi fee is a little expensive. Rent a scooter and around Kenting area, not only in the Main Street. Oh, I think you can meet many foreigner who live there, u can know many secret place from them😍

I suggest renting a scooter and checking out Baisha beach I think it's nicer than the one in Kenting town. Also meet the friendly people at Cowboy's Beach Bar & Grill at Nanwan beach .

The price in Kenting is more expensive than the city you have been before in Taiwan, especially around the Kentiing main street. But the view is gorgeous, you can go snorkeling, cycling, surfing or just sit on the white beach and enjoy the beautiful sunset with some beers from 7-11(XDDD).

@@NaickKim All that as suggested and back to Taipei travelling along the eastern coast up to the northern coast of Greater Taipei before back to central Taipei. As suggested previously to you before, visit the Bitoujiao Trail esp if the weather is sunny. You won't be disappointed and highly recommend Yehliu Geopark and Jiufen (stayed a night to avoid the evening crowd back to Taipei). Because you only stayed in Taipei for a while it seemed you hadn't visited some of the sights which i feel you should. I'm recommending these places from the perspective of a Singaporean tourist, not as a local who may have other less touristy places more intimately known to them.

Please try the try train bento box (火車便當）when you take train next time. It is one of favor food for local. However you could not take the high speed train when you buy the bento box because train will arrives the destination before you have the chance to enjoy the food. :)

Taxi should use their meter with fixed national prices, that's mandatory. But tourists, Chinese tourist also run into this problem. Good you bargained. The hill, that rock is called Frog Rock 青蛙石.
