I’ve recently started looking after my nails more, these are my tips that I’ve learnt that help: - Always make sure your nails are clean, use a tool to clean underneath them if you need to and scrub them frequently but with something gentle like a sponge or a cloth. - If you want to grow them long then don’t file too frequently, otherwise file them every week or every other week (not more frequently than a week though because filing too often can damage your nails as well, square nails with right angles are easier to maintain but they might break easier if they’re long. The best files to use are glass files, they can be expensive though so I got a sapphire file for only £2 and it works perfectly fine. If there are rough edges use a finer file afterwards. - If they are long and you don’t want them to break, act as if your nails are freshly painted, stop using them as tools for things like opening drawers etc and be more cautious with them. - Try to avoid acrylic nails or lots of nail polish as this can be harmful, if your going to wear nail polish, wear as few layers as possible, preferably one coat and one top coat and avoid acrylic nails completely, at least for a few months while you’re first trying to improve your nails. - Try to incorporate foods that will help your nails into your diet, even if it is just having a bit of it every other day that will help you have stronger nails, things like almonds and other nuts are good, foods with lots of vitamin E like avocado, mango and kiwi are good as well. And remember to drink plenty of water because your hydration is really good for your nails. - Stop picking or biting your nails, even though it might be hard, trust me it will be worth it when you have your ideal nails. - Keep patient, your nails aren’t going to improve over night, it might be a couple of weeks or even a month before you notice much change, depending on what you want your nails to be like, so you need to keep patient. - It’s equally as important to look after your cuticles as it is your nails, leave your nails in warm/hot water for around a minute to soften your cuticles before using your fingernail on your other hand or a cuticle pusher (Again I got one for £2 and it works well) to gently push up your cuticles, do not cut them though, they protect against bacteria and infections, do this every week after you file them. - Every day at least once (I find it easier to do in the evening before I go to sleep) massage your cuticles with oil. You can pretty much use any type, you can get special cuticle oils but I use olive oil because I have it anyway and it works well, just message each cuticle for about 10 seconds and leave the oil on there. This step really helps so I recommend you do it unless you absolutely can’t. - Remember that the key to healthy nails is your cuticles and healthy cuticles = healthy nails. - If you want to find as exact routine and exactly what products to use, looks up a few different nail routine videos on KZbin to get more ideas and tips, this is what I do. - Remember, having healthy nails doesn’t need to be expensive and you don’t need to have fancy products, you can probably get everything you need for under £10, maybe under £5. I hope these tips help you reach your nail goals! 💖

Ahh omg ty im a nail bitter please more tips abt them!
@corebelle3 жыл бұрын
@@13-leenkamel90 If you are a nail biter, there are a few things you can do to try to get yourself to stop: - You can buy creams and ointments that taste disgusting to put on your nails so that you don’t bite them, this doesn’t work for everyone though, some people might not mind the taste. - You can write yourself reminders to not bite your nails if the problem is that you forget to not bite them, for example if there is a certain place like sitting on your bed etc that you bite your nail then you could stick a post-it note reminding yourself not to bite your nails, or if it’s just anytime then you could write on your hand reminding yourself not to bite your nails, or change your phone wallpaper to a picture of nails or text telling you not to bite your nails. - You can replace the nail biting habit with a good habit like playing with a stress ball etc, which will keep your hands doing something different than being bitten, you could also try to identify the triggers if there are any, like if you notice that when you’re bored or stressed etc that that’s when you bite your nails, and try to avoid these triggers or do something else when this happens. - You can stop biting your nails by being inspired and passionate about growing your nails and having healthier nails, you could print out some pictures of your nail goals and put them in your bedroom, or just look at pictures of the kind of nails you want and watch videos on how to get them, this is the kind of thing I did, I used to pick my nails though, not bite them, but seeing people with nails that I really wanted made me determined to stop picking my nails and try to improve my nails instead. - Another tip which people often do is to cut your nails really short so that you can’t bite them, I don’t think this is very helpful if your goal is to have long nails, but if your goal is just to stop biting your nails then this might work. Once you have stopped biting your nails, just do the things I said in my original comment and once your nails get longer you can file the rough bitten tip off and you should have the nails you want as long as you keep determined and patient and keep caring for your nails. I hope this helps! 😄

@@13-leenkamel90 when I first stopped biting my nails I used clear nail polish, coloured nail polish, and sometimes gel polish (at the time I was a complete beginner to gels so they would often rip my nail because they would pull up, so I mainly recommend the other 2), it stopped me biting them as it hardens the nails and makes them less flimsy and kind of more awkward to bite. It also helped because it would ruin the nail polish on there and I wouldn't want to eat the manky nail polish chemicals in it anyway. Hope this helps :)

@@Periwinkle_bunny Debatable; If you maintain them pretty well, it reduces the chance of breaking near your hyponychium/nail bed area. I'm not saying it will never happen since it happened to me a couple times, but it's rare (speaking from personal experience). Most of the time, my nails will chip or crack. I have been growing my natural nails for at least one year. When or if I'm super rough and careless, my nail, from the hyponychium to the tip or end of the nail, will break off. Fake nails can peel off a layer of your natural nail. Over time, that will thin out your nails.
