During my practical exam, I used the second method for gel application and completely blew the proctor away. She only does gel in her own salon and had never seen or considered that method, but when my model experienced zero heat spike and there was literally 30 seconds of filing to complete the nail to perfection,she was sold! Have I mentioned lately how grateful I am for all of the free education and help everyone at Young Nails has blessed me with? Thank you so much!!! Greg, you rock!

Gosh....I could literally watch and listen to Greg teach all day. I learn something new from every single video. These videos have been absolutely been instrumental in my learning how to apply gel. I love YN gel products! The Precision Applicators helped me a lot in learning how to float the product and to achieve an amazing apex and smooth application that barely requires finish filing. Once I learned that technique, I was able to duplicate the same thing using a brush. It feels like such an incredible honor to be able to learn from you all!!!!

Been learning how to use gel on natural nails. Normally when I do gel some time sit chips or don’t last long. At the school I went to they didn’t teach us how to use gel just acrylic and half the time they didn’t go that. Your a good teacher and I’ve learned so much from watching your videos

15:00 - 15:10 The moment you showed this technique, Greg, I almost burst into tears - I can't tell you how many times I've had my fingernail beds get burned trying to work with hard gel and no matter what I did, I would always get the heat spike. I've tried every method I could look up to lessen it (thin layers, low heat mode, etc.) and I still suffered from heat spikes. I was ready to quit on using hard gel altogether (maybe I was just one of those outliers that have a super sensitive nail beds) until I watched this video. You have my loyalty to your brand for life. Young Nails has given me so much for nail education that I would be hard pressed to find this anywhere else - and you do it for free. Not many companies take the time to do this in a way that feels and is user-friendly.

Very informational and i love it.. One question.. If i have the synergy gel but dont have the base can i use gel polish as a base and then use the synergy gel? Also could you give me more info on the led curing light as in the watts of the lamp, if it cures all gels how many led lights it has etc ? I went to the website but i didnt seem to find its watts.. Im in love with my mystery box and looking forward to get yn nails light since i currently own a 6 watts lamp and doesnt cure any hard gels and even have trouble Curing some gel polishes. Awesome teaching☺💞💕❤💋

Would base overflow the tooth of base? I have very curved nails and if I don't freeze each nail, my sidewalls flood.

Love this! I quit acrylic nails a long time ago because of an allergy reaction to it. Plus the smell isn't that great. I'm learning to do gel nails. For gel extensions, do you think it is best to work with tips or nail forms?

Will it make a difference if you do one finger on one hand, cure while you do one dinger on the other hand and cure and switch? I have been doing that but want to start cutting down on time. I do work the whole time and don’t wait.
@youngnailsinc3 жыл бұрын
it depends on temperature. if your product is running you may only be able to do a few nails at a time vs sometimes being able to do more nails at once

Can you build a nail with base gel? Or mission control?
@youngnailsinc3 жыл бұрын
we don't recommend using base gel to build because it's made to be a thin foundation. Mission control is a soft gel paint so you wouldn't build with it either.
@GL1FE3 жыл бұрын
@@youngnailsinc what do you think about using Japanese soft gels to build entire nails ? It's what they use almost exclusively in Japan ?

What is the difference between concealer pink and builder pink gel? Is it just the shade of pink? Or are the consistencies also different?

the viscosity and color are different but both can be used to build the nail structure.

Why does the gel spill out of the gel pots?
@youngnailsinc2 жыл бұрын
We are sorry about that. Usually the reason the gel paints "leak" is because the paint gets into the threads of the jar and slowly runs down and eventually makes its way out. Any time you use them, when you're done, make sure to use a lint free wipe with a little Swipe and wipe around the threads of the jar and cap. Also make sure to store them upright, if they tip over, the gel paint gets on the cap and starts to run down the threads again.

Omggg I can’t get out of that underhanded holding habit while filing/efiling. I’m starting to get an injury in my left hand from fighting clients fingers (palm/thumb tendon area). It’s terrifying because I know a tech who damaged her hand that way from doing nails for only 10YEARS and can no longer close her hand enough to pick up a can of Coke. Forget making a fist! Her career is over! It’s so sad. Despite knowing this, I can’t get out of the habit and it is killing me! 😩
