My audition is in a month I have practiced my song like you wouldn't believe. Studied the character who sings the song. When I practice I picture myself on set on stage and it comes natural. Here is the thing I am going against triple threads girls who can sing act and dance I am a double thread I only act and sing last year I didn't make it I was a last minute audition a walk in. I told the theater teacher I will be trying out again and I don't care if I get a small role or nothing at all if he needs help building the set I am willing to help. This year I am confidant enough to try out again though I am a bit scared and intimidated by other girls at my school who are auditioning who are triple threads I can do it.

Hey girl I say either don’t listen to the competition or try to do it better or a bit more improved. I always see myself as my biggest competition in every aspect of life. It’s only you that can hold you back and why do that by worrying about people that ain’t worried about you. Always just do your thing like nobody is watching when you #loseyourself all in the music. I have an audition for a musical in a few hours. I have 3 song options. I have packed my my stuff. Still have to have to warm up my body for the dance portion of the audition and have a meal. The drive is over half an hour so I will play the warm up music through my car radio and so what I can on the way or at least once I have found parking and located where I am supposed to be. My acting and dancing are better than my singing so this is the focus today.

I've found that if ya stare directly at the panel, it don't just make the panel feel awkward as hell, but it don't do your nerves no favours either, and it can also make you feel ten times bloody worse than what you already do. That was the fatal mistake what I made at me last audition, and it turned out to be an audition-killer for me! o.o

I have an audition for Oliver, i'm not going for a specific part as in the past I have gone for a specific part and gotten a different part always. Dr. Dan, i'm thinking "Part of your world", "I dreamed a dream", and "I know where I've been" from Hairspray. I'm not black, so that last one might not be a good idea, so I'm preparing "Out Tonight" from Rent. I was asked to bring sheet music and their paperwork they sent me. Etsy is your advice?

Thanks so so much Dr Dan for this video. I didn't have an audition but I recorded a cover song for the first time yesterday and I found the advice in this video so helpful, especially where you encourage singers to walk away at the end feeling satisfied. I found this advice really motivating. I know what I am capable of and if I prepare really well and perform to the best I can then I will walk away satisfied and that's exactly how I feel now. I'm waiting for the recording to be mastered. I'm a little apprehensive but at the same time I can't wait to hear what I did right and what I need to work on.
