I followed this video (after watching so many of yours, had a real nail break really low, too low to allow it to totally come off, without severe pain and wearing a finger guard for 2 weeks, yep, THAT bad!! I had to glue it together plus used paper tape over a bandaid to hold it stable until I had time to use polygel. Did I do a perfect job? NO! But is good!! No white spots! Great beginner nail videos! Still waiting for episode 5 in this series, but I know you have been very busy!

Very helpful!! I haven't used tips or plastic forms yet with polygel because I like sculpting them like acrylic and I don't like the shape the plastic forms give but seeing how your example looks it looks like it should be fine for me to use the plastic forms to get a good shape. I'm so confused about the thinness and apex using forms!!! It's not weaker? Thinner?? I use paper forms currently but I'm gonna give the plastic forms a try and see how they look/last! SUCH A HELPFUL VIDEO!! Loving this series!

Just found your channel. Absolutely love how informative you are. I just started using polygel as in I just put on my first set. I used the dual forms first as they came with the kit, but my nails are kind of flat especially my thumbs. Would you recommend paper forms instead of the dual forms??

It just depends on what you have available and what you prefer to use. try them both and see which one you find easier but they both last long as long as you prep well

The only problem I was having was that the dual form kept lifting at the cuticle area while I was trying to clean around the edges and underside. I tried to hold it in place with my other fingers, but then it would slide around. Going to try paper forms next time. Any tips on getting the dual form to stay in place?

nope not at all the base coat is sticky for a reason leave it alone and just apply the polygel right on top of it

Nikki, did you mean the Free edge on the (tip of the nail ) I was taught the Apex is in front of the cuticle on the nail bed and that The apex give the nail strength

Apex is the stress point of the nail closer to the free edge, yes it gives the nail strength it is where the nail is most likely to break

Put on THINNER layers at a time. The heat spike is the gel moving around really fast until it cures and freezes! So the more gel u use the higher the spike. Use thinner layers and cure in-between. Also try the low heat mode on the lamp that helps too but u have to cure them longer

Oooooh okay okay... that could be why! So just do one nail at a time hold it in place and flash cure the base if u can then flip the hand over. They do have dual form clips but idk really care for them bc they press to hard making the apex to thin and the nails will break!

If I did this to my own nails I would use a dual form. Those smaller tips are suppose to pop on the hand and stay there. They are probably diffected I have had that happen to me I guess it depend on the seller you get it from. Very informative video a great help for me since I have never used polygel. Can we use Nail polish remover instead of alcohol and if the Nail polish remover makes poly gel very liquid so we can add some water in nail polish remover ..... ...... It will work or not please let me know?

Well I wouldn't bc it may break down the polygel or make it look cloudy or get white spots! Try to use your basecoat or topcoat polish for slip instead
