She’s way nicer than my teacher was! Mine would put others that she didn’t favor down in front of us all. She loved me so no problem but not a nice environment. We didn’t pay $4000 to be ripped😂❤️😂. However she is now the director of my old beauty school so I was lucky to have her! I love Suzy’s voice so soothing and amsr perfect.

Ari Sistance OMGOSH. That would suck. My teacher Was so nice to everyone and she actually stayed with me for hours after class ended just to help me with my gels so if anybody would’ve been picked on it would’ve been me but she helped me and I passed the class with an a and I took my test last week and I got an 81 on the practical and a 95 on the theory because she was so nice I had two of them and both of them are amazing the other helped me with my acrylics and she was pregnant!

That was my thought too I’ve been toying with the idea of doing my own nails for years and I think I’m finally gonna give it a go and gel seems like the perfect place to start
@whitexchina2 жыл бұрын
My 1st nail kit was Markatt/pink & I love the brand. I never tried anything else than polygel. Just gel seems very difficult & runny & when it comes to acrylics I fear the smell of the monomer. I get a headache from the smell of regular nail polish & since gel polish & polygel doesn't smell at all, I'm a happy camper. Polygel takes a little practice, but with patience & soft strokes & light tapping, it works. I started doing my nails before Christmas & I'm so hooked. My natural nails never went over a certain length & especially in the winter time they broke easily. I'm so glad I discovered Suzie & the world of nail design.
@karenryancrawford6401 Жыл бұрын
I started doing my own nails in early 80s. I worked with dogs and every time I had them done, I would go to work and they were broken when I had to work with a hard to handle dog. So I thought I will do them. I had my own UV light and everything. I didn't do well with the acrylic, and when the gel came along, I didn't have the patience to wait on drying so I used double or triple glue and filed them the way I wanted. I taught myself to do my own. I couldn't handle paying the money and having them break every time!

Nail Career Education how do you find a good nail tech? Love your videos! 💓💓
@Pixelynx7 жыл бұрын
Look around. See if you can find out from other people how good a place is. Most importantly, educate yourself on good nail application. You'll be able to know what to ask others and know what to look for yourself to be able to determine if a place has good practices or not. The number one sign of bad practices [and the most common thing you'll see] is buffing the nail bed WAY too much making the nail thin AF. You only need a light buffing to prep the nail. The other common bad practice is popping the nail off rather than soaking them off or filing them down, and then soaking the rest off if you want to completely remove acrylic.

My Mom has cancer, and the chemo has made her nails dry and nearly paper thin. They're very fragile. Is there a way to strengthen them? It would need to be something she can do from home.. Note to all women: When you get your yearly Well Woman Checkup, make sure the Dr. checks your colon too. My Mom wouldn't be dying if the Colon Cancer tumor had been caught early. She's almost 70, but damn.. it's still too soon. Mom may have beaten the odds! They cut out the rest of the cancer, and in only 4 days she was home! It was supposed to take 10 days in hospital post operation, at minimum. We'll know for sure by Christmas if she's fully in remission, and I'm crying but it's ok. Thank you for your prayers & words of support, and thanks to Suzie for leaving this post up. (If anyone wonders, her nails improved wildly by gently rubbing shea butter into them!)
@malindasmith34967 жыл бұрын
There are many products that can help add protein to her nails. Like Nail Envy from OPI or any protein Nail strengthener. She also needs allot of moisture to her cuticles and nails plates. Watch some videos on how to give a good manicure and treat your mom. Maybe a warm oil soak would be nice. Good luck and lots of healing prayers for your mom!

I wouldn't use hardener, it makes her nails very stiff what isn't very good because her nails would snap of easier, so if you use oils they could bend easier and they wouldn't snap off because they would bend before they get damaged. So use oils! Protect her nails with nail polish and your moms nails will be healthy in no time! I hope it helped a bit and I hope your mom gets better soon!

Ooooooooooooo. I know what's going on my Christmas list. I've stopped using acrylic because it cures too fast for my fiddling, and gel always tends to pool at the cuticle line no matter how far away I place it. Plus I hate filing, I hate that my arms get so tired, and the dust gets everywhere. I'm also so picky about my shape, I mean SOOO picky I have taken like 8 hours to do acrylics and like 6 or so with gel. This will definitely allow me to shape to perfection BEFORE curing, allowing very minimal filing. Thanks for showing this to us Suzie.
@saraev11196 жыл бұрын
Anya M. Rocha I glue on nails that are already the shape I want, then file the top a bit. Then dehydrate, base coat of gel polish, a few coats of the main color, then the top coat. And done. So flipping fast and they look amazing. Never going back.

@AnyaMRocha6 жыл бұрын
saraev1119 Are you referring to plastic tips or full coverage plastic nails? I have done the tips with both gel and acrylic to fill in the nail base but still have issues especially with gel pooling. I have to cure upside down for it not to pool all the way. I have resorted to full coverage plastic nails lately with gel coat, then polish and gel topcoat for strength. I'm curious to see what Suzie's comparison is between this one and the other polygel she did. I think the other one has fewer steps.
@saraev11196 жыл бұрын
Anya M. Rocha that's exactly what I meant. Full cover glue on nails with gel top coat. :) It's so easy, fast, and it's very affordable.

Hey Susie, I have shared this video on my Hair & Nails board on Pinterest, leaving the following attached to it! “ My favourite nail technician & nail channel on KZbin! A great tutorial in PolyGel!! I taught myself gel nails 15yrs ago, then acrylics approx 9yrs ago & only do my own nails to save money but was wondering about PolyGel & bought some recently. This a good & honest tutorial/review, I now know I wanna play with it too!! Thanks Susie!!! V “ I just love your channel Susie & because I’m not a professional & never taken any of the required exams etc I still have much to learn. I’m an oils on canvas artist & designer as a hobby, so I see nails as a natural canvas, just like our faces&make up! It’s just another beautiful creative avenue! No matter what I’m wondering about I always find a solution on your channel! So, from the basics right upto the great, fun & beautiful nail art, there is everything & anything you could ever need or learn on your channel! I just wanted you to know you are loved here in England too!!! Xxx Hugs, Vick xxx

Nail and cuticle oil. Healthy diet. Hydration. When I'm not eating like a hooligan my nails grow like weeds and are nice and thick.
@TheEllie1384 жыл бұрын
The health of the nail as it's growing totally depends on your overall health. If you're using nail enhancements, it also has a lot to do with the prep and removal of product. Suzie really emphasizes that you only need to buff the natural nail to remove the shine and not go further than that. In a lot of her videos, she's left a thin layer of product on to protect the natural nail. So as long as you don't overfile, a good enhancement works like nail armor

I have watched this video 15 times..finally bought my Gelish kit and it even came with the uv light....this stuff is totally AMAZING AND I DO MEAN AMAZING....it takes a steady hand but once you get the hang of it its quite fun......wish you all could see my gorgeous nails..thanks Suzie.... I LOVE YOU

Polygel sounds like a dream come true! When it comes to sculpting, acrylic is way easier to shape and work with but it cures way too fast for a non professional like me (i went to beauty school but its not my career, but i will do the things i learned on myself& my mom) . i love this!! This is the perfect product for those learning to sculpt!

Would absolutely love it if you could do more design type of videos with the Polygel... can you use glitter with polygel similar to how you would use it with acryilc etc. More demo's please!
@loristrout47416 жыл бұрын
Poly Gel is a softer product there are people adding it in Poly Gel has a sticky layer after curing if you don't use a popit you could stick glitter on then and top coat but I would not try to mix glitter in or your nails might not last
@QueenVic675 жыл бұрын
Samara Williams you can put anything ‘on top’ of PolyGel just as you would with gel or acrylic but don’t try to mix stuff in with the PolyGel it’ll change the easiness of them & ruin the look of them besides it would give your other hand a very difficult workout haha

Hot diggity, I don't comment on your videos Suzie but this.........I've been watching and re-watching this video. I'm not a nail-tech but this is incredible. None of the salons in my town are going to do these/none have shown any interest in trying this product but oh my gosh, I'm so tempted to try this myself. I am not a gel-polish person. At all. But gosh this seems so easy to manage. Like, I have never been so on-board for a product. Like I just need small enhancement to my free-edge and this looks so perfect. What did you think of removal? How was it? I.....I'm sorely tempted to grab a trial-kit for myself.
@annabor10006 жыл бұрын
Weavrr that's what I did! I'm getting a trial kit for Christmas! Hoping to go to nail school next year but I want to practice and do my own nails before then!
@sherilynl40385 жыл бұрын
i got the trial kit and i love it. it's been a year since your post so did you? removal, even just taking them down for a fill so they don't get too thick, is a bit difficult with out an Efile...so i bought a non professional grade one for about 50 dollars and i'm happy. but i've had polygel on about 4 months and only really needed to take it off all the way on 2 nails (due to lifting, caused by bending the nails in chores) they don't really soak off with acetone like the polish. but i love my nail estate and don't really need to take it off all the way. fills are about every 3-4 weeks if the nails are kept a manageable length.

I know your comment is older but in case new people are reading, its so easy!! I'm no professional, ive had basic cosmo classes, but it's super easy. I use dual forms as they come with the kit I got off amazon. I 100% recommend it!
