I really appreciate how clear spoken, down-to-Earth, & real you are! I know you made this 5 years ago, but I've just discovered polygel & this is such a helpful tutorial! I love how you break everything dow step-by-step, talk about your mistakes & triumphs, & that you show both 'low budget/use the basics' & 'higher end/I've got the $ to invest/I've been at this a while' tools, products, & methods. This & your 'start a polygel kit' tutorials are must-watches for any polygel beginner IMHO. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I remove dead skin then use a Russian cuticle bit to get anything I might have left then I put on 2 coats of clear polish then buff into the polish to create scratches instead of buffing my nail. I don't get lifting and acrylic or nail glue does not go directly on my nail.

I have one tip for those who have no drill. Get a rose stone cuticle pusher. It looks like a rubber hoof cuticle pusher but it's made of pink stone. I use that to get rid of stubborn, tough cuticles. As Nikki said, clean the sidewalls of the nail |_| and get rid of any rough skin there as well. In fact, I use the stone to gently scrub the nail plate to create a rough surface for the polygel /acrylic to adhere. This is good for people who have no drill, people who have a drill but to scared to use it, people who have a drill and not enough experience 🙋♀️, and people who have damaged nails through over filing. Yes, compared to using a drill, it does take longer. However, I use the time to slow down, really examine my nails, and, appreciate them! Nikki, Can I also take the opportunity to say that I love your videos. It's very informative, fun and very much appreciated. Thank you. Best to you my namesake! Lol Nikki

Thank you for the great info! Now I know why my nails burn so bad after doing my nails, the PRIMER. I must have an allergic reaction, and not sure how too fix this problem. Possibly, it's the acid in the bond? All I know, is that nothing lifts, but the burning and pain is so bad, I have too remove my nails. HELP :(
@tbs1434 Жыл бұрын
With the gel, I only need the dehydrater, then base coat, no problem on that. I don't know what I was thinking using that acid primer that I would normally use on the acrylics. My goodness, bad idea, not thinking!

I have a clear yayoge tube, two UR Suger tubes, a small tube of acrylgel and a tube of Born Pretty. The Born Pretty is the only one that states it’s a soak off. Which one should I start out with? I also have the dual forms, tips, and the sticker forms that you wrap around your finger. Which should I start with as a beginner. I did notice that the dual forms aren’t big enough for some of my nails. I have larger natural nails. When applying normal fake nails, I would need to use the size 0 for my thumbs but the size 0 in the dual forms aren’t big enough to cover my nail so should I go with using tips? I’m just not a big fan of gluing fake nails on my natural nails but if that’s what I have to do, I will. My husband is a licensed cosmetologist so I’m able to go to supply stores and get professional products for fairly cheap. I’ve always had a passion for doing nails and have always just did my own natural nails but I could never get them to grow as long as I wanted them to be cuz they would break as soon as they reached a certain length. As far as fitting the tips or forms, should I file the sides of my natural nails? My husband doesn’t do nails, only hair so he doesn’t really know too much about any of this stuff. I am very good with painting nails and doing designs and such just not extensions cuz I’ve never done them or had any interest in them until recently. I really love the stiletto and coffin shape but my natural nails don’t grow long enough to do that style so I definitely need to do the extensions. I also have the CND building gel but haven’t tried it yet....I heard it’s harder to work with than the polygel though...so once I’m proficient with polygel then I’ll start practicing the builder gels. I would GREATLY APPRECIATE your feedback and suggestions!! You definitely seem to know what you’re talking about and everything to do and not to do! I’m extremely impressed by you and your videos. I definitely subscribed and hit the notification bell so I’ll know whenever you upload a new video. I’ll be binge watching a lot of your videos today! Lol

of the PG that you mentioned I have only tried yayoge... I love the consistency of it... but if the born pretty one is soak off I would say start there. dual forms are def. the easiest way to go... if you do not have a large enough dual form then you can purchase some here www.amazon.com/shop/nailedbynikki or use a paper form for the thumb. As far as actually doing the application, watch the video that comes after this and it should be helpful hunni 😘

One more question for you, should I use the slip solution or just regular 70% alcohol? I’ve seen mixed reviews with some saying alcohol is the best and others saying only use the specific slip solution. What’s your suggestion/recommendation? I do have both products

I have a acrygel that says to put a base coat of gel on after the dehydration... no primers... well I did that and I got 6 days. Should I grab a primer and do it this way or do both a primer and the base gel coat?? The one that popped off was so shiny underneath the gel makes me question the process

Do it this way in the video I always use dehydrator and primer before base.... also make sure you prep the nail well. 👍🏽😉

I am new at this and I love your video ! I do have a question about the base and top coat. I have Rosalind poly gel product. Do I use regular base and top coat for normal nail polish ? or I use gel nail base and top coat ?
