Great video. Is there a handle on the outside of the gate to pull the gate closed when leaving?

Thanks for this! I’m installing several of these soon. I wonder if these can be rekeyed?
@naileditfencing Жыл бұрын
No worries. There is a new version of these. Same concept to install, but a bit better. Yes they can be rekeyed. 👍

Could you recess these so you can have a smaller gap between gate and post??

Good video. We have done this but the gate won't lock. It did the first time but after that the knob with the hook doesn't go up and down and the lock doesn't work. We started again but the same thing happened. Any ideas? We are not game to cut the second plastic rod in case we are doing something wrong and end up with no usable rod. Thanks
@naileditfencing3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the rod is too long. Grind the plastic rod just a tiny bit more.

I've just installed one of these. They are shocking. Awful construction. Mechanism is pathetic. Cheap materials. Waste of time. (Landscaper for 20years) Install a decent mortice lock instead.👍
@naileditfencing2 жыл бұрын
My guess, it’s the installer and not the lock. 👍
@timwhittles64142 жыл бұрын
@@naileditfencing You can unscrew it both sides and kick it off to break in. The spindle is plastic. It's cheap rubbish. The installation is easy but is a 1 out of 10 for security. Anyone with a wider knowledge would see that. 👍👍👍

What is a mortice lock? I was recommended this Lokklatch Deluxe today by a local locksmith, but, doing my research I don't like the sound of this one, too cheap. I've read the reviews, they said they couldn't open from the outside after a few days. And the worst part: A local locksmith sent me a quote, and wanted around 280 Australian dollars for installation. So, Bunnings claim a life-time warranty, but if you have to pay almost 300 dollars for installation, who can afford to change the locks?
