This front feature fence is a hardwood batten fence. This style is rough and rugged, but also stylish and modern.
Fence height is 1.5m tall.
Fence built using
50x38mm hardwood battens. 
125x75mm hardwood posts.
70x45mm structural treated pine rails.
Automatic sliding gate
Galvanised steel frame, sliding gate rollers and automated using the Powertech 500.
Pedestrian gate
Galvanised steel frame and ball baring gate hinges
Lokklatch Deluxe gate latch.
Mail box

did u weld that aluminum frame? which one would u rather pick aluminum frame or metal and why. i'm planning to do everything from the ground up but welding aluminum seem expensive and harder. i like the light weight aluminum frame but adding wet woods would make it weight same as metal probably. and how did u set the track on the base of the ground i usually see people pour a thin cement to support the 90 degree angle iron track. yours looks like its all metal sitting on dirt if i'm not mistaken. the combination mailbox would works over there but in the states that wouldn't fly because they would have hundreds of combinations and keys to keep track of and they don't spend that much time on each delivery. is that type of stationary track welded on the gate safer than the old chain type?. i'm trying to buy a gate to keep a special need kid in from traffics

I am planning a project similar to this but I wanted to use wood for the fence frame instead of metal. Is this a bad idea?

This is not a bad idea. Structural treated pine frame is fine 👍

I use 2.4m long posts and the rail length depends on the bay size. I usually keep bays under 2.4m long. So I get 4.8m rails
