If you have your client turn their hand around and use a tiny tiny bit of gel and just barely go over the free edge it’ll cap it perfectly. If you do it the regular way of swiping at the free edge you run the risk of applying too much gel and it getting under the free edge. I learned this tip from Paula Ponce Nails channel. Did this work? I can’t get the magpie powder since it’s only for pros. But, I saw a picture from a nail tech on IG that said she uses acrylic powder but wouldn’t reveal how she does it.

Base coat, top coat, primer, builder gel, alcohol, acetone, lint free wipes, dust brush, curing lamp, cuticle pusher, cuticle nippers, files, buffers, nail gel brushes, nail colors, cuticle oil… just to name off a few things 😊

Your other video on hombre’s says to only cure for half the time that is recommended. Is this correct because you don’t mention it in this video? Also, in this video you mentioned cleansing if it is a wipeable topcoat, correct?

Yes you do want to cleanse it so it’s matte. As far as half curing, I don’t feel like it’s necessary after doing it now for a few years

If you don’t apply it over matte it can look kind of grainy/splotchy. I have used the metal file, I just prefer a regular one. ☺️

What I have noticed if you buff your nail then the gel will lift, you have to file it to give it a rough base that way the nail polish can hold to the nail. It wont hold on a smooth nail

With the clarity gel do you flash cure each finger so it doesn’t go into cuticles while doing other nails, then do full cure on all?

I do a full cure for each nail, one at a time. Luminary doesn’t cure as fast so it takes a little longer for it not to run ☺️

Love this and all your tutorials.. I tried to do a similar version of this today. I did it on gel polish which was slightly more pink and used a white pigment from Amazon but the white hardly showed up using 2 coats.. do you think it was the pigment or did I do it on to pinky colour. Should I invest in a magpie pigment would that help.. thanks
