Went in and painted my grandmas nails after watching this. Yes they are plum but I got her to do one silver glitter accent nail for the holiday and some stickers. What can I say she is 85yrs old and I love her even if I can’t do polka dots and glitter craziness. Love your channel and your enjoyment of what you do. Grandma asked me if I liked doing her nails for real and I said YES ! I would paint the a different color every day if I had the time and she’d let me.😁🤣❤️

Prettiest leopard ever! And I loved Adam's rap at the end. I remember that song, but not well enough that I can rap it! Although I might be able to rap along with Blondie's "Rapture," but only if it was playing. Until I started watching this channel I never realized how often Brits drop the first consonants in so many words. Kirsty *never* says, "Like that." It always comes out, "'ike 'at." It's adorable, but it really keeps my American ear on it's toes, so to speak.

Great video thanx Kirsty. I have a form question. Can you open the back on a stiletto and angle up up instead of down? My nails grow down a LOT on there own and I usually do a Gothic Almond because it keeps my nails straight for a few fills, but if I do a stiletto they are growing down (curling) within 4 weeks. And I really prefer them straight. Also I do remove the nail growth from underneath. Thanx. Luna

It depends on many factors like which monomer you're using, how liquid the ball of acrylic was, the air temperature of the room, the temperature of the client's fingertips, and probably humidity. When the weather is warm and dry, and you've formed the perfect "wet sugar" ball, it takes around two minutes for max adhesion monomer, a minute or so longer if it's cold and damp. Of course, it depends on which monomer you're using, too. Obviously the high speed is faster than the medium speed, and the medium speed is faster than the max adhesion monomer.

Hi, when drawing on acrylic I noticed when I tried using regular nail polish it doesn't adhere where I try to draw. I'm assuming it's best to only use gel polish.

I did my daughters nails last night, I just purchased the acid primer, I was using a different brand before, but after preping and dehydration her nail, I applied the acid tone just on the nail I started from the centre of her nail and watch it spread, but she said it was burning her, did I do something wrong or is it she might just have sensitive nails? I'm scared to use it again now lol. I appreciate any help thank you Kirsty. X

You absolutely CAN use acid-based primer. I've never even heard of "acid tone" in relation to acrylic nails, or anything else for that matter. Acetone (polish remover) yes, "acid tone?" No. I think you may have used a bit more than you thought and gotten some on the skin around her nails. Acid based primers SPREAD. The tiniest drop will cover an entire nail. It takes a few seconds to spread out, but it goes a lot farther than one would think. If she continues to feel any discomfort with the acid-based primer, just switch her to acid-free primer. The acid-free works, it's just not quite as "lift-proof" as the acid-based primer is. At least on my nails.

I know all nail salons have different prices but In your opinion what would be my cheapest way out to get a beautiful full set of nails with maybe a ombré effect asking for all us broke people lol

If there is a cosmetology school in your area you could try there. Where I live the prices at cosmetology schools are about 25% to 50% less than salons. Of course, the work will be done by students, but they try really hard to please their patrons and they are usually willing to try new things. Services usually take longer because they are still learning, but you'll get a decent set of nails. My cosmetology school gave free regular manicures on Saturdays with any paid service. You could spend $15 for a haircut and blow out, and get a free manicure. If you have a favorite polish just bring it and they would be happy to use it. Talk to your manicurist and ask her who the "star" nail tech is at the school. Then as you leave, talk to the receptionist and make an appointment for the "star" nail tech. P.S. Don't forget to tip your students! Like all students, they are barely getting by and spending money they don't have on supplies.
