That is 100% the WRONG way to do this. If you are going to a salon that does this DO NOT go there again! Thats a good way to tear and weaken your natural nail! Do it like Naio Nails did it and it shouldn't hurt at all

thats not proper nail technique .... when you do it like that the healthy nail layers comes off with the acrylic, and most of the time the reason why is because their using MMA and not EMA. ask to see what products are being used, tell them how you want YOUR nails done.

I had mine removed in a salon yesterday..... Never again !! She used a drill file to remove most of the acrylic after a 2 min soak in hot acetone!! I could feel the heat of the electronic filer on my nails and told her to stop. My own nails are ruined, the acrylic has removed some of my own nail surface and I'm so upset 😢😢

Madisen Matherly the way the nails are prepped has a big effect on the health of your nails when the acrylic is removed. also the way the acrylic is removed has a huge effect on the over all outcome of your nails. if you go to a cheap salon and they use the e-file on your natural nail, your nail will be weak and flimsy when they're removed. if they remove it with an e-file all the way to the natural nail and try to get every bit off with the e-file your nails will also probably be needing extra love and care, due to the way they were handled.

Obviously the natural nail needs to be buffed to keep the product from popping off and possibly making more damage, however , they can be over filed. also if you pick at your lifts, it will rip if layers of your natural nail. just depends on the situation.

Thank you for this awesome tutorial! A few years ago I went to a local nail salon and they were absolutely horrible to my poor nails. They filed the nail plate so thin that my natural nails were cracking down to the nail bed and they put the acrylic on thick and rough and relied heavily on the drill to make the acrylic smooth. I broke a few of the nails off a week later while driving and went back to get the rest removed and they forced the acrylics off my nail instead of soaking them. It hurt so much and my poor fingers were swollen for several days. I finally started doing my own acrylics with much more success with a lot of help from the Naio tutorials you guys have.

I'm so glad I invested in naio products,I am only a novice in nail enhancements but buying the right product is so important and makes life so much easier and the price is reasonable too. This is a much better way to remove acrylics and I will be using this method in future,my nails are paper thin naturally and too much scraping can really hurt and cause bruising but this way is going to make my life so much easier. I got a Long handle boar bristled bath brush and when I feel itchy,especially on my upper and middle back,I run it over in a circular motion. Sooooo satisfying. That's WAAY nicer than how mine were taken off after prom. The lady shredded my cuticles with the electric filer and then used a cuticle pusher to pop them off without using any acetone at all. (As you can imagine my nails were super damaged and they all broke the same day that the acrylics were removed.)

Fresh_Water I’d say let them breathe, use lots of cuticle oil! But if they are pretty fragile, I’d say put one of those nail hardener basecoats on them.

if you are desperate and it's to take them off as shown in this video, you could use the handle of a fork or spoon. it will get the handle messy and might not work as well, but it will get the job done

I did this, ever step right...I remove the acetone soak 15 mins later, and nothing happened. I could get a small bit off by scraping a lot, I tried this again four times and nothing happened still. :/

All we can suggest is that you soak for longer, the thickness of the acrylic is a factor. the thicker it is, the longer you need to soak. I have seen Kirsty do this exact method at least ten times. and it works everytime, but the times vary

did you get your nails done at a cheap nail bar? MMA acrylic doesnt soak off and is often used at nail bars (the cheap alternative to getting your nails done)

A lot of salons now adays are using a dental acrylic that's meant for teeth that won't soak off with acrylic it's extremely dangerous to use and highly illegal I'm in cosmetology school and we had to take a whole class on this stuff and how to take care of it if we get a client that has it on their nails

MMA, the cheaper illegal type of acrylic, usually needs to be filed off because it doesn't really soak off well. The tech should wear a mask when filing it off because inhaling that kind of dust is toxic and builds up over time in the lungs, it creates a condition similar to "black lung" usually seen in coal miners but because of the nail dust color, it these cases it's white lung.

Hello I love watching your videos. I haven't had acrylics done many times before but I recently has them done for a wedding as just a few of my nails had snapped so didn't look nice with just polish so I had acrylic. The lady had cut my nails down is that normal? Unfortunately I can't wear them for my job so have to remove them after the occasion but I have noticed they have a deep line/dent in my nail after a week. I did ask for gel exstentions not 100% sire what they are but assumed they are better for your nails but no one seems to do them in the Salon's near me.
