Around apo kuna car yard iko na Mercedes S class za 2021 kama 7, range rovers, G wagons. They probably work apo ata, dusting and wiping the cars but go home on foot wakinyeshwa na hio baridi

If the entire Middle Class in Kenya was a Constituency, and them and Ruiru Constituency were to vote for different sides, Ruiru would win. Point is real middle class in Kenya is marginal, very small in size. If middle class is the active social media users, again marginal, if middle class is everyone with a fuliza and Mshwari limit above 3,000 those are also not willing to risk "my phone" for a course. Now, middle class is still awaiting a proper definition. The day we will all wake up hungry, we will hustle for a better future, for now, "hatupangwingwi"

Middle class is anyone spending 2,500 upwards daily. Its about spending. Someone with a suv rav 4 or crv etc. Someone paying rent of 40k upwards or living in his own compound . This group isn't the majority.

Kenya has had appointive leaders in the major cities before and they were just as lousy as the elective city fathers whom they replaced. Most cities all over the world have elective leaders and the results are mixed. Si the question to ask is,"why do some cities with elective leaders succeed while others fail! Why do others with appointive leaders succeed while others fail?"

All upmarket and middle-class settlements have each intentionally been paired with slums so that the majority of the voters in the constituencies are from the slums. They can be easily compromised with a few coins, so, we'll always have the worst of the worst politicians in the world. Democracy for Kenya is the worst system. (my opinion).

For you who is educated and informed, you will have your say but not your way. Why do you think we have policemen on the roads and in small businesses collecting bribes openly and without a care? Poverty culture is a governing strategy but the poor people know it and that's why most do everything to educate their kids to break the cycle.

Move the capital city of Nairobi to a different county...just like Darlsam was moved to Dodoma, just like lagos was moved to Abuja. Move development to other towns like kitenga, kiserian..limiru,isinya, machakos, Eldorent etc to avoid slums in these upcoming towns.

we have to face the truth. the colonial govt was properly planned partly because people were restricted from moving from their shagz/reserves to the city without a proof of a proper job to grant you a kipade. with freedomin 1963, the new govt could not tell people they are restricted. it was a free for all. si tumepata uhuru?

But principles of urban planning still apply pretty well in other countries where there is no restriction of movement. Colonial restrictions leading to better planning is just a lazy excuse for post independent leaders after they had failed to guide urban centres into better planned and more livable cities.
