Having lived in Dubai for 7 years and travelled to several middle eastern countries (Saudi, Jordan, Lebanon), the kindness from the locals is overwhelming. They are so pleased to see tourists in their countries and their kindness is beyond anything ive experienced elsewhere. The western media portray the ME in one way and its very misleading. Great videos. Makes me want to visit Iraq next.
@alicassidy8913 Жыл бұрын
The western media lies about a lot of things.... We disregard most of what they say. Much love from the US.
@jimbopaw Жыл бұрын
A minority of armed groups, warlords, terrorists - ME governments are weak and corrupt and unable or unwilling to deal with the problem - western mainstream media is all to happy and eager to pick on any problems, amplify and give them coverage across of the world, they are nowhere to be seen in times of peace and prosperity and quick to go there in times of war and misery. Then you have culturally ignorant consumers who swallow all this without question. So you can see how a bad image is developed. Then as a side effect, you have a few locals who are weary of foreigners with cameras giving their country a bad image, which makes Yves' work more challenging. You also have locals who are eager and happy to see their daily lives documented. Unfortunately I'm afraid that most consumers of mass media will not make it to videos such as there, however it's already something and I'm sure it will reach a few.

As an Arab from North Africa, it pains me what the war has done to Iraq. Despite everything, they still smile and embrace life. One day Iraq will regain its might

Important note: You can print an identification card for the name of your KZbin channel, and you can give it to those who are looking for your channel at the very least.

Good idea, I should do that at some point.

It's so sad to see all middle eastern countries in bad situations of poverty and destruction like that. These countries used to be home to many cultural and well-civilized nations.

The car you looked at was a mid 80s Toyota Crown which was very popular in Iraq and some other parts of the Middle East. The Toyota Crown was an entry level luxury car form Toyota before there was Lexus. We had a white one in 1988 and it was a great car. Another wonderful video.

The clothes at the beginning of the video are considered the traditional dress of the Arab man and not for Hajj. We, like other Muslims, perform Hajj in one place in the Kaaba. It is nice to see this city. There are many memories in it.that children was very nice 😹 He wanted you to take pictures of him and know the name of your channel so that he could see himself

At 5:38 this male outfit is called (dishdasheh) which is quite popular in Iraq & the Persian gulf countries. It reduces the body temperature when it gets sweated, due the high temperatures in the region that lasts about 9 months. That's why they're of light colors in the hot summer & dark in the winter.😊
