This lecture is about static equilibrium and dynamic equilibrium.
Q: What is static equilibrium in physics?
Ans: A body is said to be in static equilibrium if it satisfies two conditions.
1) The translational velocity and rotational velocity of the object must be zero.
2) The net force acting on an object must be zero.
For example, consider some books lying on a table. These books neither move in straight or curved path; their translational velocity is zero. Also, these books don't move in a cyclic path; their rotational velocity is also zero.
Secondly, the net force acting on these books are also zero.
So these books are in static equilibrium.
Q: What is dynamic equilibrium in physics?
Ans: A body is said to be in dynamic equilibrium if it satisfies two conditions.
1) Either the translational velocity or rotational velocity of the object exist, but must not be zero.
2) The net force acting on an object must be zero.
For example, consider the motion of the earth.
The earth revolves around the sun with constant speed.
Secondly, the net force acting on the earth is also zero.
So, the earth is in dynamic equilibrium.
To learn more about static equilibrium and dynamic equilibrium, watch this lecture till the end.

How tf can earth's rotational velocity be zero? Earth is changing its direction at every instant, there is net centripetal force due to gravity on earth.

Because it doesn't have a constant displacement do the velocity is always changing

Acceleration is zero, not the rotational velocity. The rotational velocity is constant/ uniform, and when an object is moving with uniform velocity, it produces no acceleration. We know that if there is no acceleration, then the body is in the state of equilibrium.

All the explanation is very good and quit impressive. But please note it down that when a body is moving with constant velocity in a circle there will be acceleration as direction will be changing every time.

a body is said to be in equilibrium when it doesn't possess any acceleration neither linear nor angular types of equilibrium are : static and dynamic. Static equilibrium is a system in which the net force acting on the body is zero and it doesn't possess any acceleration, Dynamic equilibrium means balance in motions particles in dynamic equilibrium are in balance but moving as well, equal amount of particles going forward amd equal coming backwards Types of equilibrium are stable unstable neutral In stable equilibrium object returns to its previous position if slightly displaced in unstable doesn't return in neutral it acquires equilibrium in new position...

When net force acting on body is zero it is said to be in equilibrium . Equilibrium is basically state of body when net force acting on it is zero.
