If it is possible to add sodium(solid) and cl2 (g) directly as you finally said in this video, then why we convert sodium into gaseous state and lose one electron (why we follow that process as you said first in this video) . Which process we usually do? 🙏

It is very simple... Heat of formation is the complete process of making NaCl from the scratch. It contains all the processes as heat of dissociation, ionisation energy, electron affinity, lattice energy and heat of sublimation. Remember that lattice energy is just a part of the heat of formation just like frying chicken pieces in the process of cooking macaroni. I hope it will help you!!! 👍👍👍👍

Lattice energy is energy required to break or bound atoms from gaseous state to solid or vica versa but bond enthalpy is the strength of bond which talks about stability or you may call it as the amount of energy required to dissociate or associate the bonds.

Nah it’s filled according to the electron configuration (1s^2, 2s^2 ) So for sodium there is 11 electrons 1s^2 -> 2 electrons 2s^2 -> 2 electron 2p^6 -> 6 electrons 3s^2 -> 1 electron When we consider the valance energy level which is the 3rd energy shell there is only 1 electron, thus it is removed and sodium gains +1 charge
