Glad to see you meet up with this guy. He's got some talent and his designs are pretty sick. IMHO he really tries to keep true to the JGC WJ body lines. His stuff holds up as well. I had a chance to talk with him a couple of years ago and still plan on getting some of his products. Covid hit and priorities changed. Glad you put this one together.

being a old guy I've done my share of swaps in cars for well over 40 years. I'm new to the wj.....what's the cheap set up to get into a ls? and retain a working 4x4....not worried about pretty or cutting, just ready to move on past my current 4.7. ability to turn 33" in sand....

A build like that is not street legal here in Australia. My build I am about to start will be street legal for Australia but I will run the 4.7 with twin turbo and a T56 Magnum gearbox. Aiming for 1000hp so many many custom parts mostly modified Gen 3 Hemi parts.

Im building it with the help of Airram and WTF Auto a local performance shop. If after this information you still think I will have problems please tell me where in the engine and I will look into it. Rik

Hey Najar, i was in your discord but left it a while ago and wanted to ask a question. I blew up my T case and got a new reman one along with a tom wood's driveshaft and 4wd is working again. The only thing is whenever it is engaged, I feel only what I can describe as "tension" or a slight vibration that feels like something will explode with any excess throttle. Is that normal or what you feel on your WJ? I have the same setup as yours, i6 and an np242. Before the T case blowing up, I think it may have been a previous owner issue because I don't think the 4wd ever engaged at all, so I have nothing to compare this feeling to. Also really cool to see the Dtill WJ in a video rather than just in pictures

Which driveshaft did you get from Woods? Front or rear? Its sounding as if youre having a driveshaft angle issue with the front.

@@quadscrib229 Front one, the top spec double cardan one, can't remember if axle or t case side or both has the double U joint, but I opted for that higher option with it. I blew my stock CV one due to angle, but I thought the U joint one would resolve that issue

@@quadscrib229 I have 0 vibration when 4wd isn't engaged. I'm away for college right now, I can't recall if it does it in 4hi, but I know for sure it does it in 4lo. I've gone 90 on the highway with 0 vibration too. Maybe I put the yokes on wrong? When I first started the project I put a new crush sleeve and CV yoke in, could it be that I need to do another new crush sleeve when I changed to the U joint yoke?

@@pinesurf1 not if you were careful aout how you torqued the yoke nut,. Thechnically youre supposed to replace the crush sleeve but in 15 years at the Jeep dealer we did not replace them we just marked the nut and returned close to where it was originally set. That was when replacing pinion selas and/or bearings.

@@quadscrib229 The first time I put a new CV yoke in I used some rotating torque wrench to make sure it was getting the right resistance, but when I installed the Tom Woods I just torqued it to the specified torque (somewhere around 200ftlbs)

6 liter motor and under 300 HP and torque? Wtf. I switched cams to 08 cams on my 4.7, tuned and added air intake and 3 inch dual exhaust and I'm at 300+ HP....nearly 400 torque.
