You still have to push the clock with the same hand that moved. The reason for this rule is that some players will try to sit with their hand on the clock in speed and either push the clock before the move or hold the button down when their opponent tries to press the clock.

11:21 In that position Qf2+ also works with the same idea. The White King can't escape to e4 because Qe3 would be checkmate so it moves to g4 and the end is exactly the same, since the Queen can capture the f4 pawn from f2 or e3.

Took me a couple minutes to find it!! This wasn't explained in the video but at 11:33 the White King cannot go to G5 after the pawn check because the Black Queen would capture the pawn on G3. After that [with only two legal moves to run to], the White King would run into a checkmate moving to H6 with the Black Queen going to F4. Furthermore if the White King runs to F6 INSTEAD, he would run into a checkmate with the Black Queen moving to H4.

I did not read everything below so maybe I repeat previous comments. However, a nice variant not mentioned is (at the paused position) after Black's 1...Qg1+ 2. Kf3 Qe3+ 3.Kg4 h5+ 4.Kh4 Kg7 then (instead of 5.B:f2 ) white can try 5.d7 Kh6 6. Q:d4, after which if black plays 6....Q:d4? white promotes just in time to protetct g5 and win, but black instead would play immediately 6....g5+ with mate.

Komodo just felt for the same "trap" against Nakamura in a 10 min game, so there has to be good compensations for the pawn (Komodo played Qb6 Bxe7 Re8, and seemed to manage equalizing after Bxf6 Bxf6, but eventually won of course).
