Regarding Eczema: I had an enduring patch of eczema. Went on a keto diet for about 7 weeks. Not only did the eczema go away, it has never come back, and I haven’t gone keto since. Somehow getting all the sugar out of me, even for such a short time, seemed to reset my system.

Dear Miss Emily I'm a 68 YR old former professional makeup artist, who will ALWAYS love making up! I adore you and have been watching your channel for 5 years. On your demonstration and recommendation, I purchased the Wet and Wild Nude Brown blush, along with a coordinating lipstick, Maybelline Ultimate matte in More Mocha, a mauveish brown, and a Boots #7 lip masque. As a fellow eczema sufferer, I feel like winter eczema is the most difficult to treat. One of the things that has been game changing for me is sleeping with a humidifier on in the room (in addition to whatever skincare products are most effective for you). It's also been a really good preventive measure for me, since I know that running the heating system is a trigger for my skin.

Btw on the eczema front for all those who are interested - Please don't be afraid of plain old petrolatum...e.g., Vaseline, Aquaphor. I know it's gross to feel it on your face during the day, but it makes a great occlusive over your gentle moisturizer at night and helps heal the most irritated patches. One thing the derm cautioned was cutting lanolin out of skincare because it's a common allergen/trigger for many people, and also, believe it or not, coconut oil in leave-on skincare products. It can irritate some people. Experimentation is annoying but sometimes it helps. 💋

I love this look! As a BIG brown lover I greatly appreciate this. I'd also love to see a video where you do a deeper take on brown, perhaps the same blush but a deeper brown eye and absolutely a deep brown lip. I’ve found the biggest thing with eczema is to avoid fragrance in skin care nd makeup, particularly essential oils. The worst my eczema ever got was when I was on a kick using only “natural” 🙄 skincare and makeup which is generally full of essential oils.

Hi Emily! I’ve struggled with eczema my whole life. I also get it on my eyelids and around my mouth. Avene is awesome! One thing that really triggers flares is also fragrance in shampoos. My dermatologist put me on everything unscented and it helps a ton

Something to watch out for with eczema: for some reason, lots of cosmetics and skin care products are loaded with detergent, including sulfates. Sulfates are fine for cleansing, but left on skin they're awful for eczema-prone skin.

Would LOVE a video on the most brightening concealer/powder combos! I’m still on the search for the best combo. My vanicream face moisturizer and the regular vanicream for the under eye is still working great for my dry skin issue. I’ve added cold pressed rosehip oil along with the vanicream and it’s really locking in the moisture!

Emily what you're describing on your eyelids n face is exactly what I had. The 2nd opinion Doctor said it was stress. It comes from the stomach n your body reacts and it comes out anywhere on your body. Mine was my eyelids. I love make up and i wear it everyday. I wish I could send you pics how my eyelids looked. It was horrible. My doctor suggested to take pepcid and a non drowsy allergy pill at the same time. It worked. I tried prescribed ointments for eczema and my primary doctor told me it was my make up. Nope it wasn't. It was stress. I hope this info helps some. Good luck!

I cannot even begin to thank you for showcasing THIS BLUSH! Toasty colors that are complimentary to my skin color are very hard to find because on my light-but-olive-tinged skin, everything turns ORANGE and sallow. One of my favorites blushes is from the now defunct Makeup Geek brand. The shade is/was "Infatuation" and since I cannot replace it, I have a refill of it saved, untouched, just to take to stores and try to find a comparable blush that is at the same depth and undertone. When I saw you pick up and open the lid of THIS BLUSH my heart skipped a beat. And when at 7:53, you started sheering across your skin, I knew I had to run and check it out because it looked like it would be exactly what I've been looking for all these years. OMG, it is! It's 99% identical to the Makeup Geek "Infatuation" in undertone and depth! The very slight difference is not noticeable once it's on the skin. Now I can feel free to use my Makeup Geek one because I have one to replace it with when I run out. The Wet n Wild formula is excellent, too, so I don't feel I'm compromising or cutting corners in any way. THANK YOU, thank you, thank you for giving drugstore makeup such a prevalent position on your videos. (And yes, as you discovered, it makes a beautiful eyeshadow, too!)

I like the idea of using blush or bronzer as an eyeshadow and started doing that watching you but was always told not to for many years since it can cause break outs and reactions. I developed a dairy intolerance in my 30s and within a few weeks of going dairy free my eczema disappeared. I had it since childhood and some changes as an adult made it better. But nothing ever made it go away. My skin is no longer super sensitive either.

Id love a cream version thats this color! I currently do my full face with covergirls soft sable-- It's a bronzey blush. I use it all over as a light contour, darker on my cheekbones, and then on my eyes on the corners really packed on. It's a fantastic color! I use the avene cicalfate any other night. After retinol sometimes. One of my boys suffers from eczema during the colder months and he uses the cicapair, from one of their sister brands: aderma. I’m familiar with these products because I live in Europe. It’s rare that I put him under cortisol or any harsh substance.

Hi Emily! ❤💕 I’ve suffered from eczema as well, and after having been given food sensitivity tests by a naturopathic doctor, it was found that I had sensitivity to egg, as well as the combination of sugar and fruit/citric acid. Eliminating egg and cane sugar, as well as sugar substitutes, from my diet (I can still have honey and maple!) has nearly eliminated my eczema. After pregnancy, for whatever reason, now my knees act up in winter, (with eczema), but it’s so much better than it was. Good luck with your skincare journey! Love you! ❤❤
