Hi, i whatched a couple of videos of decasing disasemble or tearing down a gopro 10. A piece from my gopro 10 fell off, i suspect is a preloaded spring leaf, could you help me understand where should it be in the gopro before opening it up?

A piece fell off? If you haven’t taken the GoPro apart yet, then you’re ok. You won’t need that piece.

Oh? In that case you’ll need the labs firmware. I’ve heard that the new GoPro firmware needs a battery to run. The latest GoPro firmware is not good for naked GoPros. I usually don’t update the GoPro before taking it apart, unless it’s to add the labs firmware.

Hello, thanks for the guide. Would love to see you weighing every single part you take off the camera. Because there's also people who are just looking to lighten up the camera for other purposes other than fpv and perhaps keep the battery on. 1 question. What if someone would make a semi-naked gp10 like that.. by like that I mean with the battery frame on. Screens removed.. most of the casing as well.. or perhaps make the casing full of holes. Actual question: would the gp10 overheat if you only record 1080p 60fps with that setup and inside a protective waterproof housing? Or does it only overheat in higher resolutions?
@MartinWithDroneBuzz3 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. I should do that on my next How To. As for the over heating. I don't any issues with it. I know it's a very common problem. I've shot at 5K 4:3 30FPS, 5.3K 60FPS and 4K 120FPS with no issue. I get a cold battery warning but that does affect anything.
@manoli.1603 жыл бұрын
@@MartinWithDroneBuzz I don't know about the heating issues of people with normal gp10. My question was for all completely naked gp10. If it was stationary (not flying in an fpv) and it recorded only 1080p 60fps (not higher than that because it will surely overheat), would it be fully functional and record without shutting down or cutting videos short or whatever? That would be very interesting to test, because if it does work, like I said one could make a waterproof-protective case housing the actual shell of the gopro. Why would one do that: 1. Fully waterproof up to 30m 2. There are no screens for you to damage even if you throw it around 3. Lighter than the actual gopro.. maybe just by a little (perhaps 20-30 grams) but still lighter, which would be a benefit for people using it on helnets. 4. Because a gopro naked gets smaller in dimensions, perhaps you could fit it in a smaller waterproof-protective case housing from a different camera. Thank you for replying.
@MartinWithDroneBuzz3 жыл бұрын
I see, a naked 10 shouldn’t overheat at 1080 60fps. Then in a water proof case, that would get you a lighter GoPro that can still take a beating. Some people have the naked 10 overheat just by seating there not even recording anything. Others, like mine, doesn’t overheat regardless of recording settings or if it’s just seating in one spot or on the drone. It’s hit and miss right now. Hopefully GoPro can come up with a solution for that. Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee if you’ll get a GoPro 10 that will not overheat.
@manoli.1603 жыл бұрын
@@MartinWithDroneBuzz Actually my plan is to go for a hero 8 black. I think a 10 would be overkill and paying about a 200 extra for it only to have it completely disassembled.. it kind of pains me. 8 should be enough for 1080p 60fps which I am interested in. Or let's better say.. no. Gp10 is just better and I want that, but this will be my first time getting a gopro naked.. so if I see I can do it fine without destroying it and get confident, I could get a gp11 considering that is released next year. Just want to first make sure that this project will work out fine and test in general. Thank you very much!
@MartinWithDroneBuzz3 жыл бұрын
The 8 is a great camera. It’s still the most widely used naked on FPV. Plus you can get lighter than the 10 and keep the front plate and lower mount on it if you want.

Great video, thanks for effort. Question, at 37:28 you remove the silver lens surround, if that were to be removed on it's own would the lens still be fully locked in position? Think so as it's just there as mounting point for the square lens protector, please confirm.
@MartinWithDroneBuzz2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could remove it with the lens still in the GoPro. The lens mounts onto the housing of the GoPro, not this silver part.
