I saw this in a dollar theater that showed movies that had been out for a while. The OJ thing had just gone down, so needless to say, when OJ was the first character we saw, everybody reacted a little bit, but when he immediately reached for his gun, we all were like “oh shit” and laughed so hard.... one of my favorite moments at the movies

@@Theomite Thats one of my favorite things about these old films with Leslie and the Zuckers. The jokes were there just to make you laugh. And it was a joke for everyone because it was so over the top and ludicrous, so insane it was impossible to take it seriously. I am from Pakistan and I have laughed every single time. From the guy trying to ambush the Pope to the Iraqi soldiers in the Top Gun! series. Everything was just trying to be as insane as possible, and it was glorious. Absolute, old gold glorious. They actually influenced my sense of humor and types of jokes to use for a lot of my stuff, writings, and comics as well. A shame we don't get movies like these anymore.

@@sha11235 They are, with Liam Neeson. I'm...well, we'll see. I like the casting of Neeson, though--people forget that Leslie Nielsen wasn't known as a comedic actor before Airplane! (nor was anyone else in that movie). I don't think the concept works with a comedian in the main role--at one point, the remake/reboot was tied to Ed Helms starring and I don't think that would have worked at all. Maybe this version bombs too but I'm willing to give it a chance.
