Along with Orson Welles he co-founded the Mercury Theatre, and co-produced _Citizen Kane._ He was the first head of the Drama Division at the Julliard School. He founded The Acting Company with members of the first graduating class of the Julliard acting program, including Patti LuPone, Kevin Kline, David Ogden Stiers, and a dozen others. In his long career he produced or directed some forty Broadway plays and thirty-three films. It was only rather late in life that he began acting.

The music was very good. The song that played during the baseball game is "I Love LA" by Randy Newman. The song played after Frank and Jane fall in love is "Something Good" written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, performed by Herman's Hermits. My favorite part is the baseball game. It was funny the whole time. In the 80's, most people would have recognized the right fielder who tried to kill the queen as Reggie Jackson, a top player at the time and a star on the Angels.

The gun the bad guy pulled at the end is an Uzi Pistol. The sequels are both great, but you should see The Untouchables first. There is an iconic scene in there that you'll see in a sequel. Similar movies are the Pink Panther movies, starting with the second one. The first one "The Pink Panther" was a heist movie that featured a French inspector. That inspector was so popular that they did a number of spinoff movies around him. They even tried to reboot it a few times, but they weren't as good. There are a lot of baseball movies worth watching, but I think you'd like The Sandlot, the Bad News Bears (Original), Major League, A league of their Own, and Bull Durham. You don't need to be a baseball fan to appreciate them. The first two are technically kids movies, but they hold up. They are all great movies, and baseball plays a major part in them, but they aren't "baseball" movies in the true sense. For more focused movies, there's Eight Men Out, which you should see before Field of Dreams. It's not a sequel or anything, but the same character appears in both and it will help to know the first story before seeing the second. The Natural is good, but probably not a good fit for a reaction channel. Moneyball talks about the business side of pro baseball.

Other good comedies are "The Heartbreak Kid", "Tropic Thunder", "Kingpin", and the classic "Odd Couple" and "The Out Of Towners". A couple of raunchy ones are "Porky's" and "Sex Drive", and Very early Tom Hanks "Bachelor Party". A couple of cool dark comedies are "After Hours" and "Burn After Reading".

The VHS box for this at the time just straight up gave away the plot and was inkeeping with the jokes, pointing out the baseball player as the assassin.

And it's worth rewatching many, many times. The large number of background gags (and foreground - like walking around the set walls, which you magnificently caught) will make this so much more fun. "Use your open eye, Frank" you caught, too. AIRPLANE II isn't worth watching except to say "I have" but the next two NAKED GUNS are good enough.

The hospital I must Kill Norburg leads up to my favorite scene, a chase scene. Frank high jacks the car of a student driver. Wait you'll see - extended your left arm, etc... At the baseball game the killer was Reggie Jackson, an actual major league ball player... I am happy you liked this flick!!! This is funny!!!!! Take care, see you next time!!!!!!..........................................................

For baseball movies I second the motion for A League of Their Own 1992 and Field of Dreams (1989). Might i suggest The Natural 1984‧ with Glenn Close and Robert Redford. Also George Kennedy is a wonderful actor. For a little seen film of his taake a peek at The 'Human' Factor 1975. Absolutely brutal and in it George plays a family man turned total juggernaut. I think there were three NG films but I only remember the second which was good too. Stellar reaction as always. Champagne wishes and cheers Commander.

Jen, The Natural (1984), Bull Durham (1988), The Bad News Bears (1976), and Rookie of the Year (1993) for baseball movies. You'd love The Mask (1994) with Jim Carrey, a wild comedy with an adorable Jack Russell Terrier in a supporting role 🐶! Loved Enrico Pallazzo, where can I get his albums?? 😁

I think you should see the science fiction classic Forbidden Planet if only to appreciate what was perhaps Leslie Nielsen's greatest serious dramatic role. It's amazing that it took so long for anyone at Hollywood to decide that he should try something silly. What really impresses me is rock and roll royalty like Priscilla Presley turning out to be a great comic star in her own right. Johnny English Reborn is another comedy about an incompetent hero type interacting with the Queen. Thanks, Jen!

This movie was written & directed by the same three guys that wrote and directed "Airplane". Their names are, David Zucker, Jerry Zucker, and Jim Abrahams. I went to high school with them in the 1970's in Milwaukee, Wi. Besides Airplane, they also did Airplane 2, The Naked Gun, The naked Gun 2 1/2, The naked gun 33/3, Kentucky Fried Movie several of the "Scary Movie" movies, just to name a few.

This was non-stop laughs, Thinking the dingy was dropping a deuce comment had me lmao. When you heard the name pap-smear you gave one of your biggest wheezy laughs ever. Drebin had his own "Q".....and yessssssss it was a verrrrrrrrry nice Beaver. We got a 69 situation and the post coitus montage was all in a day lol. You threw on that bow tie in one smooth motion and the Queen looked absolutely smashing. When they shown the different newspapers of the Queen and Drebin each paper had a different position. Good to know that Head Klunks is your go to move lol, can't get KLUNKS!!!. The baseball player assassin was Reggie Jackson, aka Mr. October, known for his world series heroerics in the 1970's. ( Cool ass Froot Loops shirt by the way )....I can't say it enough, all you Jen fans out there that doesn't have a patreon subscription you're missing the boat. Tol Secret and Hot Shots (1 and 2) are in the same vein as this, so you might enjoy them as well. As for baseball movies...depends on what you want. Comedy? Drama? Old? New? Major League, Bull Durham, The Rookie, Eight Men Out, the Natural, 42 and 61 are are all great movies. The Bad News Bears is a classic. The Sandlot and Rookie of the Year are good too. So many to choose from.

Hi Jen, The establishing shot where the camel walks across the scene was shot at the Brand Library in Glendale a few miles from where I live. The Secretary is Charlotte Zucker, mother of the Zucker boys. She was also in Airplane! where she had a rough time putting on some makeup. I think she's in all their movies. Another really good Zucker movie, directed by Jerry Zucker is Ghost. More serious with comedy, suspense and a love story. Airplane 2 is good, but not done by the same guys as Airplane! Great baseball movie is Field of Dreams and The Natural.

I love this movie. I saw it on VHS back in the days of maybe 1990 or something. I remember a few jokes from all those years ago. When looking closely at the baseball stadium scenes, I found out that the exterior scenes of the baseball stadium are at Angel Stadium. The interior ones are at Dodger Stadium, but it has the Angels playing. I wonder if this is some insult to the Dodgers or something. I'm not sure. I really love the scene with the harbormaster, exchanging the $20 bills. And by the way, I bet the MLB would like to hire The Queen as a pitcher. Very tricky pitch.

I feel that many don't appreciate the sequel "Airplane II" but I think it is certainly well worth a good watch, although it DOESN'T have Leslie in it. Other spoofs of good note are: "Top Secret" a pure classic for MANY, "The Cheap Detective", the two sequels of "The Naked Gun", though personally I would say, watch the original 6 episode tv-series "Police Squad" first. There is also "Death By Murder" as another spoof with great class of actors. Baeball movies, as been noted by others: "Major League" the first and the sequel, "Field of Dreams" is a good one although fairly serious as such. I think there was one that was about the The Red Sox that I haven't seen yet. Wonderful reaction and there are just so many memorable jokes in this one. Ricardo Mantaban, (Apologies Ricardo for making a mess with the surname) was also very wonderful in Star Trek II, as well as the Director of the Original "Fantasy Island", and if you do watch that, as you have done the Bond Series, you will also recognise the assistant to Mr Roarke.

The Naked Gun movies are my favourite comedies of all time. My friend and I had watched them so many times we knew the movies inside out. In our free time we would play out entire sections of the movies just for fun. Fun fact: Weird Al Yankovic is in all three movies because the producer of the Naked Gun movies also produced some music videos of his.
