Great movie. You should also watch Top Secret! 1984 with a young Val Kilmer from the same directors of Airplane and The Naked Gun trilogy.

One of the best comedies of all time! I even like it even a little more than the fantastic first one. So many great gags per minute in this one...

The man in the photo at 7:43 is English Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, proudly displacing his copy of the Munich Agreement by which Britain and France agreed to hand over the Sudatenland of Czechsolovakia to Nazi Germany. I saw this in the theater as a 9 year old and subsequently watched it a million times on VHS before I finally got that reference.

I remember seeing when this came out with a friend who had not seen the first Naked Gun. It took him 20 minutes to realize the Naked Gun was not a dramatic cop movie.

OMG Miss Jen, you gotta promise to watch The Untouchables before you ever watch Naked Gun 33 and 1/3. Believe me, there's a logical explanation. 😁

Zsa Zsa Gabor was known at the time for slapping a motorcycle cop hence her cameo slapping the police squad car light. The dude Jane is dancing with when Frank cuts in was the late, great Mel Torme, a well-known crooner for decades and often did comedic acting bit parts. And yes you need to see GHOST. :D PS: ZAZ - Zucker/Abrams/Zucker - have a new book out on the making of AIRPLANE! entitled 'Surely You Can't Be Serous?

HARRY POTTER. Hi Jen!! Don't know if you are aware, but Dr Meinheimer also played Harry's Uncle in the Harry Potter series. AND if you go back to SUPERMAN 2, he's also one of the terrorists in the Eiffel tower scene in the beginning

Watching this in the cinema with my friend who had a very distinctive laugh (which made us laugh more) I came as close as I ever have to asphyxiation via laughter during the scene where the professor is having items dropped on his head. I had sore lungs for days after this.

"Play our song Sam" - best gag ever. I'd suggest Baseketball which is the Abrahms Zucker writers with the Team America/ South Park guys and is outrageous. Also Hot Shots 1 & 2.
