The breakdown and the “I’m so sorry” and the “please tell me I’ve not injured anybody”explains it all. It seems like he is drinking to distract himself from some kind of trauma or sadness. If you kill or maim whilst driving drunk, drugged or distracted by texting or otherwise manipulating a phone or similar; then aside of any custodial and financial penalties, you should never be allowed to drive again in this country. Only when the lifetime loss of the perpetrator's driving licence is introduced in legislation and applied by the courts will hard-core offenders and those indifferent to the right to life of other people consider their selfish behaviour because of its effects and affects upon themselves. If you agree with the foregoing paragraph, please copy and paste and share as you see fit, perhaps including your MP. Let's encourage the people we know who do this to think again and the politicians to properly change the law. A driving licence is a privilege to permit the holder get around and / or earn a living - it is not permission to selfishly kill or maim other innocent people with impunity.

Why use _man_ and _lady_ when you could use _his nibs_ and _'er indoors_ instead?

Stopping in a live lane because of a warning light ? He needs to take his driving test again. Stupid.

The penalty for drink-driving should be life imprisonment.

I know this is old... but if that police woman said she has run out of patience for those who didn't have their seat belt on... means it time she gave up being a cop. A cop is not the judge jury and executioner... they are out there to help people in time of need, and that includes people who made bad and silly mistakes.

I know what you're saying, but people could be saved before anything by wearing a seatbelt. It is an incredibly easy step which prevents so much damage if the worse is to happen!

Guess you’ve never been to fatalities time and time again where the victim was not wearing a seat belt. Also police are not social workers, they are there to uphold the law. So telling people to wear seatbelts and fining them if not, that’s their job.

She said "worn thin" not "run out". Big difference in meaning.

She’s 💯 correct

Seat belts have been MANDATORY for decades. Not wearing a seat belt means you have substantially less control of the vehicle and are more likely to crash…

I love the police patronizing attitude to the drink driver but has the officer never had several drinks and worked the next day ?

Probably not, no. What a strange line of supposition 😂

I was at a wedding where there were several drunk fire arms and other officers who drove home the next morning with hangovers.
