I've wanted to make a Ted vid to this song for so long! I find that each verse really perfectly describes each of his four main relationships; Victoria, Robin, Stella and Zoey.
I just wanted to show how each of his relationships have helped him grow and change in some way, and have each helped to lead him to meeting the mother.
Also in the last verse I included how his friends have helped him too, how Ted sees Marshall and Lily's relationship as an example of perfect love, a love that he wants for himself some day. And also how Barney and Robin's love story will eventually lead Ted to finally meeting the mother at their wedding :)
