This movie was released 48 years ago in 1973. It realistically shows the hard and desperate living conditions that workers had to live under. Can we honestly say that their lives have improved in 2021? Sadly, the living conditions of our workers are where they were in 1973 although India has achieved a lot during the past 48 years. Hence, there is truth in the saying that the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Hard as it may be to believe, Namak Haram may have been Amitabh Bachchan's finest performance. Through his passion, he absolutely brings his character to life. Hrishi'da's direction, and the acting of Rajesh Khanna, of course, were of a very high caliber as well. As a number of others have said, movies of this kind just don't come along too often.
