Namakwa 4x4 Eco trail - FULL LENGTH FILM

A full length film of our Overlanding trip where we travel to the Northern Cape to do the Namakwa 4x4 Eco Trail. This was originally published as a 5-part series, but I thought you might enjoy it as a full film as well. The trail offers both the challenge and the reward that makes it the ultimate trail for the outdoor enthusiasts and 4x4 driver. The challenge is the rugged Northern Cape's isolated semi-desert terrain, mountain tracks and testing dunes. The rewards are the driving thrills, the awesome arid scenery and isolated camping spots.
We started the trail just outside the small town of Pella and ended near Vioolsdrif, camping along the river at some wild campsites amd at Die Groot Melkboom, Ramansdrif and Kamgab.
We went in mid December of 2020 and did Part 1 of the trail, from the town of Pella to Vioolsdrif. We traveled in a convoy of two vehicles, Livingstone a 2021 Toyota Fortuner, and Livia a 110 Land Rover Defender.

I like all the detail of this trip, would also like to do it one day. Just 1 thing @52:29 you are driving under a type of construction - how high is it. Will a Bakkie with RTT fit driving under it?

I love the video and want to do the trail this holiday followed by a night at the richtersveld trans fronteer park and head back to cpt via the westcoast and some wild beach camping. I have a few questions, from cape town where is the best starting poing or route to get to the start of the ech trail? Should I take 40 or 20l or extra fuel? Will I be able to use google maps to navigate? What GPS did you use or navigation app and do you have the route to email me? Was there cellphone reception on the trail? What drone are you using ? Did you see any other vehicles on the trail?

Thanks! Sounds like a great trip that you have planned. 1. We drove to Pella via Springbok. 2. It depends on your vehicle’s fuel usage, but I would suggest 40l just in case. 3. Google maps will get you to Pella, but no further. Most of the trails are not on Google maps. The satellite images are sometimes helpful though. We predominantly used the printed directions and maps that are sent to you when you book for the trail, and used the Tracks4Africa app on my phone as a backup. 4. There is no cellphone reception. 5. I am using a DJI Mavic Pro. 6. Yes, there were 1-2 other vehicles. Hope you have a great trip!

Both are great choices, but I do love my Fortuner. I use Adobe Premiere Pro.
