This station is part of Chennai Metro Phase 2 Corridor 4 of Light House - Poonamallee bypass section. It is underground section. Contractor : ITD Cementation.
This station exactly coming up near Light House at Marina Beach. This station is around 416 metres length and 35 metre width . This is the longest metro station in terms of length. It is terminal & originating station.
In this metro station concourse level will come up at second level and platform will come up at first level. Stabling yard & Crossover line facility too will be constructed. Stabling yard will be used to park metro trains.
As it directly connects Marina Beach it will be one of the busiest metro station in future. Not only for local public even for tourists this metro station will be very useful.
Already tunnelling work started in this station.

@NambiValavan bcos mylapore junction is one of the major junction where line 3 and 4 gets intersect and goes 110m in depth which will be very challenging. And I've seen in thirumailai station only the initial work has started.

@@deepakdkrishna1854Already Chennai metro officials announced that Thirumayilai metro station work will be the last station to be completed in Metro Phase 2 project. So they decided to operate metro trains by skipping Thirumayilai metro station to reach Light House . After Thirumayilai metro station work completed it will.be open for traffic. Till then they will start to operate metro trains to Light House once the remaining work ( except Thirumayilai metro station ) completed.
