Very nice, Doug. You can get some really beautiful and usable sounds out of this thing starting from scratch with relatively little effort. Great.

Spider had given me a heads-up about this. It’s Iceworks and therefore a must-buy- it looks like the ideal synth to curl up with and explore on a long winter’s evening. Can’t wait!

You’re right, Wal. I went on a long magical journey with it last night just with 3 operators interacting with each other. It’s insanely good and has easily become my favourite iOS synth already. I’ve dropped other current iOS projects and giving this one 100% attention to explore and learn it. I can’t believe the vast possibilities for sound designing on this one! 🤪🤯

@@spidericemidasiosmusicprod1309 We go away for a week next Friday, and I’ve told myself ‘no hardware*, get back to iOS music-making’. This is perfectly timed and will keep me busy all week! * Except a midi keyboard obvs…

Thanks Doug. Great intro to this stunning synth. Satoshi really created a masterpiece with this one! It looks beautiful, controls are super smooth and the layout of everything is perfection, easy to follow and understand. The modulation possibilities are insane! There is so much control over everything. This synth is just going to keep giving and giving and surprising us as people get more familiar and adventurous and exploratory with it. The sound design possibilities are mind bending! I am extremely excited about this synth! ❤️

After reading on the Audiobus site about FM synths, the singular aspect that popped out to me, was the desire for an LFO that dropped down to zero. Now, I assume they really meant ‘quite close to zero’ Hz because I’ve always understood it as accepted, that in sound processing there is always a frequency or actual cycle time, (this is shown as adjusted around 13:38) a duration and a cycle for the effect of something to occur. I heard of other LFOs drop to 0.012 or something, for example. I don’t know if by being software a processing system can breach this norm by being in the digital realm instead of an actual circuit. But that is a technicality - this is probably their most ambitious virtual instrument to date, it is impressive, may be this is their supersynth. Thanks doug for another guided journey through the jungle of music creation.

Great demo, Doug. I am not a big fan of delving into FM to create my own sounds but this does have a nice UI.

How do you access the modulations for the modulation sequencer, on an already existing preset, in order to figure out what is (already) being modulated with that mod sequencer?
@JeffyG2 жыл бұрын
Very cool demo! However, I’m a presets kinda guy and DeXEd for iOS is $5 for 20,000 x 32 presets faithfully to the Yamaha DX7. If you’re into sound design and your own creations the UI of Newbu might be an advantage, but for the rest of us DeXEd seems like a logical alternative.

Hi there....Is that an old school DX7 type synthesizer. It a sound type of thing. Can you play 2 OSC at the same time to create a rhythm. with different pitch types 1 pitch is a bass the other a lead.
