+NWH83 It's not just that, the new guy doesn't keep time on the hi-hat constantly like Askel did. The new guy also tends to simplify the difficult parts. He didn't play on the new album either.Don't get me wrong, he isn't bad, he is tight, and people that don't play drums probably can't tell the difference, but I've been playing 12 years and can. lol

Aksel Holmgren = one truely epic drummer indeed. His timing and control are absolutely impeccable. At the same time, he sounds very natural, not mechanical at all and with lots of dynamics (no triggers used, no of the charts compression). Very hard to master!

Dave Grohl is not the drummer of Ghost, He invited ghost to come to his studio in LA and record some covers. He (Dave) played drums and also produced the tracks on the If You Have Ghost EP, which includes: I'm A Marionette, If you have ghosts, Crucified, Waiting for the night. I'm not 100% that he played drums on all of the tracks, atleast on I'm a Marionette.

Unique and interesting technique. He sits high while the kit is particularly low, something contemporary with old school drumming of the 60s and 70s, which today is regarded as rather uncomfortable. He also incorporates quite a lot of syncopation in the beats, something also associated with traditional drumming. We don't know a lot about Aksel, but he sure must've been a fan of Bonham or something. Pretty badass.
