one thing in the live action that can be confusing is when Arlong splashes Luffy. It's usually taken as that is like an immediate power of salt water stopping a devil fruit user, but it's supposed to be in reference to Arlong being able to throw or flick water at bullet speed. Also the bit of Arlong expecting Luffy to be bigger and Luffy saying so did I is obviously a riff on how in the manga Arlong is like 8 ft tall and OPLA had to downscale him

Taz Skylar (Sanji) posted his workout routine on his Patreon recently, and it's actually insane. Man is a beast. Also, the amount of training he did for this role alone just blows my mind. He did his own stunts.

I know it is common to say you would die in three weeks without food and that is largely true, but the world record to survive without food is 73 days a ship wrecked sailor lived that long with 0 food.
@sleepysera
@sleepysera 6 ай бұрын
That's also about "normal" people. Someone with stored energy reserves can live much longer. Usually that's in the form of fat, but muscle works as well, and Zeff was pretty much a monster in that regard. Overweight people have fasted for up to 12 weeks on multiple occasions without issues, though ofc that isn't recommended since your body is getting critically low on A LOT of basic minerals, vitamins, etc. that keep the body functioning besides just "energy" at that point. With intake of those, one guy in the UK lived around 400 days just off his body fat, so yeah. Human bodies are pretty insane when it comes to survivability 🤭 Ofc, on top of that, humans in the One Piece world are just built different anyways, so they could arguably live longer without food as well, but 10 weeks is very much within the realm of possibility even in reality for a well-built man, especially considering he was a cook and probably had an extremely well-balanced diet before the event, meaning he wasn't suffering from any nutritional deficiencies beforehand that would speed up the onset of malnutrition-related misfunctions.

25:50 I think it works so well because in the anime, you are considered to be in for the long haul, like a soap opera. So there are dozens of plot hooks that are set up and built up on to pay off much later down the road. Do you know what it was like to one day a year or two after you start One Piece to see Koby training with Garp?! So to build upon that setup early works way better for the show.

You will understand what Garp meant by gloves off completely in the last couple of episodes. Garp in all the episodes so far he has been trying to use other people to Get Luffy like Koby's Sqaud and Mihawk but since all those failed so now he going to resort in a hands on approach. So by not giving away anything too much you will just see what i mean in the next episodes.

I haven't verified it, but I read in another comment section that in most dubs, the voice actor who plays young Sanji also voices a certain character who becomes a crew member on the way to Alabasta. On the off chance that holds true for the live action series, it's especially interesting for this actor, because that would make two entirely different roles that share a certain common animal theme...

Buggy isn’t just around in the manga & anime, he is prominent in the most hilarious way. From the Impel Down arc onward, Buggy seems to keep failing upwards. What I mean by that is that Buggy’s notoriety skyrocketed from 3 things: People learning his past connections with powerful people, him getting the credit for some impactful things even though he didn’t do anything to cause them, & a whole lot of dumb luck.

I had a nephew that got terminally ill. with his condition it was screaming agony for him to poop so he only ate one meal every nine days, Eating so little his stomach shrank making large meals uncomfortable. So for Sanji the time between meals wouldn't be an issue for as long as they were out there food storage to keep it edible... that's the trick. if you look at the jewish survivors from concentration camps and you see they are literally a skin attached to their bones with literally no muscles. because you body consumes its stored fat first then when the fat runs out the body will start to feed off your muscle to keep you alive. chopping off a limb requires more calories to heal, risk of infection, etc. it might make your stomach feel better but in terms of long term survival chopping off your own limbs is definitely not a way to survive. but i guess we can go with a pirate wouldnt be that well educated so i guess you can see what someone might THINK thats a good survival strategy. So not sure if that was Oda thinking it would be a bad ass concept and not knowing the medical facts behind it or if he did know but was still like "yea, but pirates tho"

It’s a story about an explorer who says he found a city of gold but when he brought his king to it in a later journey, the city wasn’t there & the king believed him to be a liar & had him executed. I finally manage to get to One Piece Episode 49 and am now in the end behind the story of the live action .. finally. But i also think if the don't would do the fights there last for 6-8 episodes, yeah than there is not really much more story in it. Let alone all the time with the close up shots of people fletching their teeth or sit on the bottom cowering in fear. In the end i could have lived very well without the endless battles against first the henchmen and then Don Krieg himself, just a waste of time for me. Oh ... and how many cooks do they have in the Baratie in the anime .. they don't even fit all into the ship i have the feeling. Im mean .. 30-40 ? Its absurd.

Water can do some very wicked things with a lot of force behind it. Pressure washers and firehouses can do some serious damage to a person--don't try it! The scene before this just showed how incredibly strong the Fishmen are, so we should assume that they can generate enough force to knock Luffy off his feet with that splash of water--six stories in and I think fiction might not be Clarus thing, she doesn't seem to be enjoying this series, Nerdy.
