I think that joke is overdone and very annoying at this point and i think its right to let James know that, however i think the backlash was a bit disproportionate tbh.

If they were that peeved at James Corden then they wouldn't have gone back would they??? We've all seen how they (or their management) have cut Award Shows in Korea or the Ellen Show, and why didn't they go to Jimmy Fallon's show, especially when his show did a whole week of BTS??....woah.....that sounded like it was coming from a grumpy place.
