These guitars look absolutely wonderful, and i have mo doubt that their build quality is top notch, but i think Tosin doesn't understand the market very well, most 8 string players are younger adults ( including myself ) and my guess is these guitars will be EXPENSIVE. And there lies the problem, most people won't be able to afford these, even if you can afford one, what does the guitar offer at it's price that another wouldn't have at the same or even lower? Kiesel guitars now come with fishman fluence pickups, are made in the USA as well, and are known for their high standards for build quality. and even the most over-the-top multi-scale they have is just under $3000, hell i saw burled natural finished multiscale 8's for $1800 on their website. I don't want to be completely cynical of these guitars because again, they look amazing, sound amazing, and i know the build quality is superb. But when i can hit up Kiesel for the same thing at an even lowet price my interest in buying one drops significantly.
@JakeGuenther98296 жыл бұрын
Sovereign King well yeah i'm not saying these guitars are unaffordable, i'm just saying that most people who are fans of Tosin or in the prog scene are younger, they don't have 8,000 to drop on a guitar. And he is alienating himself from his fans and the scene by doing so. But these are great guitars i do like them for their sound and look, i just don't like the route Tosin took with contracting a small shop to handmake these.

He did not say what kind of cedar ...there is a South American cedar that is called cedar because of the smell of the raw wood ...but it is actually a light mahogany.

S Jay I emailed Abasi Guitars and Frank got back to me that lefties will be readily available with right handed guitars and have all the same options. Got to say I’m very impressed and that alone definitely makes me a huge supporter, anyone that can readily support lefties deserves success in my book.

I personally like it a lot when it's all seethrough wood like this one. When it comes to price, just wait, they'll do like Strandberg, they'll have the custom shop at around 3000$ and will eventually create the Abasi SE, or something that will be exactly the same but built in Korea by Cort or something and will sell around 1300$, just wait and see. Or else the whole business plan doesn't work.

yeah they will never release his prototype, its been almost 2 damn years i would get impatient too... that first white ibanez proto with the gold hardware in the seymour duncan video tho.... such a shame that will never see the world
@jackelliott36086 жыл бұрын
Yeah they screwed themselves here. All the Djent tosin groupie kids with rich parents would be buying these things left and right from Ibanez. I can’t believe they drug their feet so long and missed out.
@allstopblue57176 жыл бұрын
Jack Elliott you ever think it was Tosin being too demanding. He clearly feels like he is smarter and more advanced than anybody else. He probably sat there and kept demanding things that weren’t worth doing from their point of view. So he jacked their r&d work and is doing it for himself to profit. Lol
@jackelliott36086 жыл бұрын
Rob Kennedy I don’t think so imo. He’s using that prototype in videos from at least 2 years ago for sure. He had a vision and they were taking a long time so I don’t blame him for making a decision like this. It’s actually genius. He’s gonna be rich(er).
@Fabelaz6 жыл бұрын
@Jack Yeah, well, this one might also loose money. Pretty risky move. It's good though that he works with a smaller team, it's going to be much more flexible. Ibanez probably couldn't handle the release of the prototype because of how unusual the shape is. They would loose money just getting the model to mass production (I mean, much more than they already lost loosing Tosin). PS: for me, it doesn't seem that djent is as big and popular as shred was, so that's the reason why I think this initiative might fail.

no one calls out Tosin on his blatant rip off of Fodera Basses entire look for his guitar, meanwhile he insists over and over that he designed this, even though its such a copy.
@allstopblue57176 жыл бұрын
RezaMatix exactly!!!! Not only that but Ibanez made “his design” come to life with THEIR money, THEIR time, and THEIR R&D. He just jacked it and found someone else to make them for his own profit.
@RezaMatix6 жыл бұрын
damn, thats true. yet, HE DESIGNED IT. That just bothers me, the guy comes off like he is full of himself. and thats not a good look. he can play, yet he never bends...

You're like the >10% of the majority who think the guitar is ugly lol. Its design is purely ergonomics & scientific yet maintaining its beauty since it's inspired by Rick Toone and Strandberg.
