I would've loved for the 7c 73 to have waterfall semi-weighted keys and key the same mod wheel and pitch bend positioning that the yc61 has

Need a YC73 waterfall keys to compete with Hammond SK Pro and Nord Stage 3 Compact!
@stevec.18023 жыл бұрын
A game changer for sure. I like the fact that the YC88 has the triple strike feature. Would have been nice to that feature in the YC73, but everything is a trade off with every keyboard. We just learn to adapt and carry on. Love your knowledge and presentations. Definitely a serious consideration.

Fantastic instruments, but I was really waiting for a waterfall 73 keys, in order to be able to play hammond parts without limitations and have enough extension to play some beautiful piano pieces decently. So sad.

Exactly. YC was supposed to be organ focused with waterfall action. I'm so disappointed.

Waiting for the CS, Yamaha!
@unclemick-synths3 жыл бұрын
I'll believe it when I see it. I think Yamaha were just teasing Behringer but I could be wrong. At least if the Reface CS is anything to go by, Yamaha are better at getting their modeling to sound "analogue" than Roland. The Boutique JP-08 has that sheen caused by too much low-res math whereas apart from a couple of controls that have slight zippering, the Reface CS is very convincing.
@gautrstafr3 жыл бұрын
@@unclemick-synths Precisely! We just need a 61 key full size CS with the same engine but more controls and improved.

for heavens sake - bring back a synth based on the CS60/70/80 - I dont care if its digital if you do not have the guts to do it analogue.

@@gautrstafr The Reface CS was my first hardware synth and I love, it can get pretty complex for it's little Controlls, but not quite Complex as the Deepmind by behringer for example. A Hybrid of these 2 guys would be the perfect synth for me..

@@skyreadersociety6183 yes 👍 i dont understand why yamaha (or anyone) has not done an analog modeled version of CS-50/60/80. Something like the me-80 plugin but hardware keyboard. Yamaha could do this with their eyes closed

I just ordered the YC-73 because of your video. I didn’t want a weighted keypad or I would have bought the 88. I was on the fence with the Yamaha or a Nord. This video made it easy to decide.

I’d like an organ with 4 octaves in full size keys, like the Vox Continental. I love my Reface YC, I just wish there was something just as simple but with a full size 4 octaves high quality waterfall keybed, it would instantly become my favorite instrument. Simpler and more portable than the YC, not many controls, just a couple of effects and the drawbars, but with a really high quality keybed.

Everything seems perfect- black chassis, great layout and features, deep fx section, probably cheaper than the red counterpart.. but i just can't get past the tinny and 20 years old sounding (basically the same what my motifES rack sounded like) quality of the piano (electric ones aswell) sounds, it really is the huuge minus that makes me look past this unit.. Lets be honest- with the sofware alternatives like keyscape even the Nord is getting a bit behind the game, so i just dont get why the guys at big companies like yamaha, don't concentrate on the new technologies for getting better and more realistic simulations.. (the video says up to 2TB of internal storage at 11:00 ??)

Because the people on top are merchants and don't care for products, but profit margins. Instead they come up with an internet price cartel with Korg and Roland.

piano still sounds somehow sterile and weak, would say it might be because of not so much dynamic levels sampled, but for a hardware it is decent sound, i would say the same sound is on yamaha's P-515. rhodes are way better after os update, nice acoustic bass samples, can't say much about organs as don't have much listening experience of real ones. the keyboard on yc-61 model feels springy, but sturdy, i don't like the response, but this is subjective.
