@@Ottophil Tradition and innovation can live next to each other no problem. It's good to have both. But I get your point to a certain extend. I'm into Japanese superstrats myself (Caparison, 90's mij Jackson, Ibanez) and I'm not getting exited either, seeing this. I get the impression that a lot of it is 'innovation for the sake of innovation' and every guitar needs to have some weird finish. I respect the craftsmanship that goes in to it but to some builders I would say; "Stop making guitars and go make art". But I guess that doesn't pay the bills?

Well done KDH! Pretty much my fave youtube look at NAMM 2024 - your choice to go a bit off the beaten track and showcase many smaller, boutique builders was totally appreciated. Love to see a focus on so many smaller fry builders, especially since they're the ones daring to try new things and to really innovate. Notably Aristedes and Evertune for their selfless and mutually beneficial relationship in trying to innovate. Bravo. GREAT COVERAGE KDH....safe travels home.

Great job with your coverage KDH. Short, sweet, to the point features. Each NAMM I notice some themes and this year one of the themes I noticed, it's the year of the matte finishes on guitars. Seems like the majority of the guitar makers at NAMM this year have a bunch of guitars in some kind of matte, non-gloss finishes.

Great coverage these past days. Thx. One thing I dislike about trade shows (in any sector) is that the final day is such a bummer because most ppl take off so early. Companies bitch about high marketing costs but neglect to use a high percentage of floor space they paid for… which winds up being passed on to the consumer in the end.

Eh, while it's not my favorite, design-by-comittee is how you get stuck making nothing but S, T, E and LP-clones. It reminds me a bit of a more-offset Manson Oryx or the Parker Veron Reid body shape
@ExternalInputs11 ай бұрын
@@necrojoe I'm no fan of the endless copying of guitar body shapes, and I'll acknowledge coming up with something "different" isn't easy considering how many manufacturers there are and have been. However, if the ultimate aim is to sell these guitars (and it should be), they still need to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Different alone won't get many sales.
