This is bi-timbral and has 8 voices while the MiniFreak isn’t and has 6. Also, price wise, $600 opening actually makes sense for this. It’s competing with the MiniFreak and the Hydrasynth Explorer. What the Microkorg doesn’t seem to have though is aftertouch, which, if true, is a big mistake. It’s becoming a standard.

What I'm very curious about is if this can accept all the patches that can be uploaded into the OG model. During the years the community made lots of amazing sounds that can be found all over the internet so if suddenly these are not usable by the new model at all, it'd be a huge missed opportunity! If this has a completely new sound engine I'm afraid this might be the case which would be a huge bummer

I've got some questions. it's VA, so are the voices expandable to 16/24? otherwise it's no better than a virus or nova from 99. There's an arp, but no sequencer? Bi-timbral is pretty common. most classic VA synths are full multi-timbral. 4, 6, 16... can we expect something more than what everything else already had at 600? I feel like this missed the mark in a lot of ways. honestly the only thing cool about it to me is the live looper with multiple sound sources but how capable is it really? can you route it through effects? can you implement loops to be added to the Sample engine for patches? I have a lot of questions.

crappy? compared to a laptop, sure, garbage. compared to synths in general? amazing, most synths dont even have screens and if they do theyre monochrome 1 inch garbage

The screen is the best thing about this synth because you can't judge it's sound from eight presets.
