I thought this was gonna be a gimmick…. Nope…. It’s actually the coolest and most innovative thing this show has had to offer so far
@piktormusic25389 күн бұрын
I was thinking something similar. I don’t know how many guitarists have a bent for something like this, but you’d think that some of the synth guys see the potential.

This is beyond amazing. It's the innovation that is long over due for guitars. And OH the irony with the 80s glam metal shredder in the background trying to pulls us back, whilst the circle guitar moves us forward
@DragonGrafx-164 күн бұрын
I prefer the shredding to be honest... this would be a fun thing to mess around with but not a replacement for a normal guitar.
@vaughnquinlan67223 күн бұрын
It's an enhancement, for when you want it. You could of course have all faders up, the wheel off, and shred away. 1/4" out to your tube Amp. But the midi control, wheel, etc, enable you to become an arpeggiator, while freeing up a hand for on the fly automation.

Could you program this to only hit three strings but keep the other ones active so you could play by hand on the others? What does picking with a plectrum and a magnetic pick sound like? (He did show what hand sliding and touching the strings with your fingers did, would it be something similar?) Could you play tapping, while it has a midi control strumming sequence going? How would that affect it? There’s so many possibilities!

@casualintrovert2079 күн бұрын
@@Krilium This is why I learned how to play right handed guitars upside down. Makes any guitar accessible now! But its definitely easier when the cutouts are the same on both sides like with an acoustic or something like this
@Krilium9 күн бұрын
@ True, but that’s not feasible for me as I’ve been playing for 15 years and my career needs me to not have too much downtime. I could restring a right handed and reverse the nut but then the knobs are in the way and there’s no place for the strap! Also it wouldn’t work for asymmetrical pickups. ‘Tis a shame, but once every few years, I see a lefty guitar that really speaks to me and I buy it.

Over the years we’ve seen two schools of research and development: Those that try to emulate humans playing on a physical guitar instrument, and those trying to emulate the sound of humans playing a guitar on a synthesizer / keyboard instrument. In my opinion, so far, it seems that the keyboard / synth instruments running guitar sound emulations have progressed further than guitar instruments trying to emulate human players on a guitar body instrument. It would seem that by now developers should be able to isolate and recreate the notes and nuance / articulations on a soft synth platform of all guitars (granted the impulses and articulations would likely create a massively sized library but it should be possible)… whereas the guitar type instruments lag behind quite a bit as developers need to not recreate the guitar sound itself (since the guitar itself is producing the sounds) but they are attempting to recreate guitar player’s hands and hand movements… which is exponentially more difficult IMHO.
