Even so, she knows he would never cross that line to hurt her. he just can't stand to see others suffer, that's the kind of person he is. so she has to be the one that's strong for him while he is strong for others, teach him, break him, love him, support him, scold him, entice him, BDSM him, unconditionally. What seems to be a game between them in the anime are actually real violence from her in the light novel.
