Is Nancy the least played Family Character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game? It seemed like it for a while and then Nancy got nerfed slightly so i wanted to see if she's still viable against Victims!

I had a thought today: Nancy's metaphorically a spider! She killed all her husbands and that gave her the name 'Black Nancy'. So, she's like a black widow spider. Her traps cover spaces in the same way as webs, which is the symbolic grounds of the family having to break them to pass through. Hence, when the devs captioned her teaser trailer, they used that famous quote with the phrase "said a spider to a fly". ...just a random thought 😂

I feel like pins and needles should guarantee at least one extra trap the traps are basically weaker Hitchiker only for gaps, the only reason to play Nancy, is to team up with a Cook and Hitch to make the match impossible for victims to do anything

It's always funny seeing all three family members chasing down the last victim (if you're the victim, it's a terrifying sight). I agree with what you said about family not using Nancy most of the time, when I'm playing as family, it catches me off guard when she's on my team. Still think she's a good family member with good trap placement and screen peeking on victims.

Her ability is ridiculously good when there's only one Victim left, but often pings someone in the basement when multiple are alive. The information is also difficult to share in solo queue when (in my experience) the vast majority of Family players seem to have their voice-chat disabled.

This is my build except I prefer Fired Up to Unrelenting. Going left central means you get 30AP. I put 43 in savagery and 22 in endurance. I also sometimes use Dinner Bell over Pins and Needles if there's a Hitchhiker and he's not using it. Great video. I agree with you. Nancy can be good. I hope the devs increase the speed she can set traps or give us a perk to speed it up. That's the only part of her kit I dislike ❤

People are sleeping on "Tracker Tagged" on Nancy. The perk is so useful (information-wise) when paired up with Leather (and/or Johnny). You don't necessarily need the perk on Family House as long as you're running Poisened Claws (I mean to be fair, who isn't..?) but other than that it's huge to support the team. If you play Nancy like a (black widow) spider and just trap and camp down an area to force people away from objectives/into your/HH's traps, that's probably the most value you can bring for your team when playing as Nancy.

I really like Nancy, but the randomness of the Pins and Needles perk can be frustrating. I would like to have a chance to proc Pins and Needles when resetting a trap instead of having to pick up and re-place the trap completely. Alternatively, they could make it a static +3 traps perk instead of giving you theoretically infinite traps. I managed to get 10 traps in one game (that was a fun Family House game) but I typically get only 3 or 4 traps. It's also way too slow against the rush meta players.

I think Nancy is strong when she can be used to her full potential (when you are able to place all her traps down and can keep control of the victims before they leave the basement) but I think with how the game is played most of the time, you just can't keep up. placing the traps down is very slow, and Nancy herself moves very slowly too, so you have spend a lot of time setting up, which isn't really possible a lot of the time. It is nice that Nancy's traps will affect the victim for longer, but a lot of the time, if a victim is caught in a Hitchhiker trap, they are pretty much dead if the family members are able to quickly respond Also, Hitchhiker is able to do the same job as Nancy, but can also place traps in much more varied locations, can place them down quicker, AND can move quicker, so there isn't as much of a reason to play Nancy when the Hitchhiker can fulfil her role and others much more effectively for now. I think Nancy just needs a little more of a reason to play her from Hitchhiker, because she doesn't really stand out enough yet to be as effective as she could.

They don't really do the same job though do they? Nancy can't chase so it's kinda apples to oranges. You can get multiple of Nancy's traps, her traps are also much more difficult to navigate while you're being chased. Her ability gets free vision which is great for comms and just in general. She's a great support character that can offer a lot of utility. Her ability can help against the rush since you can directly locate at least one person for all the family to jump as soon as the rust starts. Hitch is a better chaser and is a great roaming threat, but I don't think they're in similar roles beyond the traps. She's a hybrid role between cook and hitch, i imagine the reason to play would be based on your own teams makeup and what the map is going to be. Pins and needles on family house is absolutely insane.

yeah, I kinda forgot to mention that in my first comment. Nancy is a nice mix of the roles that Hitchiker and Cook fulfil, and can certainly support your team well, but I just think it doesn't feel great to have the drawbacks to her abilities compared to the Cook's hearing (Nancy is the only family member that sees a victim when using her ability and requires communication to tell others about it) and Hitchhiker's traps (Nancy places her traps much slower and has less variability in where she can place them, but yes, Nancy and Hitchhiker's similarities do end there.) Maybe this is just an issue for me, but i'd rather focus on doing one thing well than doing multiple things decently when playing as a family member, though I would get it if that sentiment is not the same for others 👍

While I’m inexperienced with Nancy a thought occurred to me while watching now using gas station as the example it may have been better for Nancy to exclusively watch the fuse and valve since fuse was in the house you could have blocked both doorways and crawl spaces and I believe valve was near the big shed the wall gap was perfect leaving victims nowhere to hide meaning you can shut the valve easily with a little team cooperation on watching the gen and battery you’d probly have the ideal family scenario as long as they stay away from the fuse box as I will admit to breaking a Nancy trap as hitch a few times

With nancy. I do enjoy her. I actually do max savg. Poison claws, pins and needles. And then whatever the 3rd perk is for the map. Now i do think the shorter maps are her best. Something like slaughterhouse and her own house are the worst for her. I think shes a lot more viable on the rest with family house being the strongest.

No one knows how to use her. She's an assistance character not a killer. She's best used if she doesn't allow herself to get caught alone and connect herself to her mates A) teams with mikes and map knowledge can be deadly and almost unfair B) if one of the deadliest (LF, John, or Hands) attaches himself to her so when she uses her psychic ability he can follow her to the vic. That's pretty much an insta kill.
